Hi, I did the same thing - joined about 3 years ago and was overwhelmed by it all - but I did lose some weight. Didn't keep up with it, and one thing led to another, so now I'm back and this time I have stuck with it and have lost nearly 30 lbs so far.
Welcome to SparkPeople and to the Viva Vancouver! team. If you haven't done it already, be sure to set up a SparkPage - I put it off for a while, but now I realize it would have been best to just jump right in! The nutrition tracking is great, and so is the fitness, though I have to admit it still isn't my favorite way to pass time.
Take time to look around, read the message boards, post an introduction on the team, and generally get acquainted with all SP has to offer. I'd say more, but I'm getting sleepy, so I'm gonna head to bed!
