Welcome Gwen! I am also 5'2" and we "short" people know how every stinking pound counts. I had 40 pounds to lose and I only have 10 more to go! If I can do it, so can you. I am in my mid-50's. Set smaller goals (don't focus on the 70 pounds); focus on 10 pounds by the end of March or whatever you feel is reasonalbe. Use the nutrition and fitness trackers. They are the best tools!
