Hello. I just joined the team today. Very informative discussions. On my own I found two videos with 30 second samples of workout songs on YouTube. I will be doing HIIT on the treadmill but have applied it to my bike riding. My daughter made her weight loss goal and more using HIIT. I have explained the basics to my skeptical son and he is possibly going to try it with walking at fast and normal speeds. So we will see how this all plays out.

Hola! I read a book that was available free for my Kindle through Amazon on HIIT and did my first session on Tuesday. I did it on my stationary 4 minutes easy then 30 seconds really hard! I did this five times & the workout took me about 25 minutes. I did it again last night and hope to do this 3-4 times a week. I need to see some results. Think I will?

Welcome Charlie-B! This team isn't as active as I wish it were, but maybe we can bring some activity back to it. I've only done a few HIIT sessions since I started a couple weeks ago but it is definitely helping to restart my weight loss which was stuck on a plateau for quite awhile now. Like you, I've seen a drop of 1 or 2 pounds the morning after my workouts. Although my first week I only did 2 sessions and while I saw the immediate weight loss, the inactivity and eating above my calorie range throughout the rest of the week ended up negating the weight loss. I've decided to try and get 4 sessions in a week....although I haven't been too successful with that this week, I've only had 1 session and my parents are coming in from out of town today and staying through until Monday. I'm hoping to still get a workout in this evening and maybe one on Saturday.

My best results for weight loss and endurance have been by using HIIT. I have even found a way to make it work during water exercise. Very flexible. Find what works for you!

emoticon to you both! It is not a dead team, but it could stand to be more active! Glad to see we are getting new members, maybe posting in the forums will pick up.

Please let us know how your continued HIIT efforts go~ I think you will find it is a very quick way to burn many calories and drastically improve your fitness.

Hello, I'm Charlie,

I am hoping this an active team!

I did my 1st HIIT on my Stationary Bike yesterday and I could really feel the difference. I was down a whole pound this morning and I ate 1834 calories yesterday. That's a lot more than I can normally eat and I'm guessing it was because of the HIIT.

Hugs,
Charlie

G'day, Spark mates!

My best results have come when I incorporate HIIT. Have a happy time finding out how to make it fit in your busy life; I think it does better because you can achieve more in less time.

Hi everyone! Just wanted to introduce myself as I just joined this team today. I'm a 35 year old working mom of 2 boys (4 and 1). I joined SP in 2008 about 5 months after having my older son as I was my heaviest weight I'd ever been, 186. I know that probably doesn't sound bad to some people, I'm also 5'9", so I didn't appear that heavy. However, since my mid-20s I had been steadily gaining weight (60 pounds in 6 years) and I didn't want to allow myself to get to a point of having weight and health issues. I lost about 30 pounds and then got pregnant with my 2nd child. I've been holding onto the 10 extra pounds I didn't lose after having my 2nd son and would like to lose that as well as approximately another 10-20 pounds. I just restarted my journey with SP back in January and started out good with losing weight the first 3 weeks and then stalled and have been fluctuating up and down a few pounds since then despite eating fairly healthy and within my calorie range and working out which includes some strength training with free weights and workouts on the elliptical. I've been frustrated because even though I've never been perfect and consistent with my eating and exercise, at least last time I lost weight I was slowly and steadily losing a pound here or there. I've never gone this long with not losing much weight when I've been trying. And this time around, I feel that I've been more consistent with my cardio workouts and my food tracking. Because of my frustration of not seeing the scale move (or my measurements going down as I know that is a better indicator of weight loss and muscle gain), I have been finding myself more tempted with ridiculous weight-loss scams, like pills, wraps, etc. A friend of mine has been posting on FB about her now selling the ultimate body wrap and keeps making claims of losing 9 inches, 16.5 inches, etc and I've actually considered it, which is not like me. I'm a believer in proper diet and exercise and don't want to waste my money on something not realistic. I've been looking for ways to help improve my weight loss without spending a lot of money or time away from my family. I saw some articles recently about HIIT and started reading more about it and thought possibly this would be something I could do in my home that could hopefully help and not take away from all my other things life throws at me. So, here I am! I plan on starting this program on Sunday. I know, that sounds like the old cliche, "I'll start tomorrow" and tomorrow never comes and everyone says to not wait until tomorrow, start today. But here's my valid reason. I won't be home until late this evening as I have a couple things going on after work. Then tomorrow after work, I'm driving a couple hours from home to meet up with some friends for a show and then spending the night at a hotel with my friend and doing some girl stuff the next day and won't get home until later on Saturday. So, I think Sunday would be a great day for me to focus and get started and I know that I'm the type of person who will get started, so wish me luck!!! Oh and any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated. And please visit my SparkPage although I have to apologize as I haven't updated the pictures in a few years so the pictures of my older son are actually a few years old. He's still as cute as ever, although don't tell him I said that because he informs me all the time that he's NOT cute!! :)
