I'm new to the team and P90X. I'm a little nervous about sticking to it because I have a tough time following through on programs. I still need to figure out what I'm going to do about getting a pull up bar.

Not new to Sparkpeople and not exactly new to P90X, but I quit the program years ago and want to begin again in earnest lol.

I would like this workout routine to be "the one" that helps me meet my weight-loss and health goals, finally. I've dealt with weight-loss issues most of my life and it's exhausting. I'd like to not have to stress about it any longer, you know?

I'm happy I joined this team and look forward to interacting with everyone. Bring it!

Hi! I'm new to the team. Was looking for a good challenge that would help me build on the fitness I have to strengthen and tone. Started PX90 on 4/5. Found the ab ripper X too advanced for me, but I have the Power 90 ab exercises and will start from those. Had no trouble with Chest/Back, Plyo or Shoulders/Arms. I am taking a Power Yoga class too, and running a couple miles every second day.

emoticon To the team! I am new here as well. I will be starting my 1st round of P90X with my husband soon. I can totally understand not being able to fit workouts into the schedule, as I have had that problem myself. You can do it! 30 minutes is doable.

Glad you are here!

Hi, everyone. I am a 35 year old teacher, in need of a jumpstart to my fitness. Years ago, I had great success with Power 90, which led to purchasing the P90X DVDs. I was inspired by the intensity of the workouts, but couldn't seem to fit them into my schedule consistently. So, they went into a drawer, and I went back to ignoring how out of shape I was. Anyway, long story short, I am giving the P90X3 a chance since it is only 30 minutes. I think the intensity will be there, and it will be easier to fit into my schedule on a consistent basis.

So that's me, and my story. Glad to be here!

Hey everyone! My name is Darrin and I'm starting Day 02 of P90x Lean. I have dabbled in the program before but fell off the bandwagon after the first month. I'm not going to make that mistake again. In that short period of time I saw same fantastic results and I'm hungry for more! This time I am pledging to myself that I will complete this program and hopefully many more there after.

Hello, I'm new to P90X and this team. Hoping a few of you beautiful, fit people will inspire me to make my short-term and long-term goals. The last decade of food decadence and desks/sitting have me expanding in ways I'm not thrilled about. Used to be in the military, a police officer -- I know about fitness, I know how to exercise ... just fell out of the habit.

Just received my P90X in the mail and will be starting tomorrow. Excited and nervous... but trying to just stay in the moment, and do the best I can do...pushing myself. Good luck to everyone, especially those just starting...

Hey everyone! I'm starting P90X Sunday and I'm going to finish this time. I've tried and started 3 times, LOL! Each time I had done about half the program and quit for numerous reasons. Though this time, I'm in it to win it. No slacking this time around. I'm glad to have found this team specifically for P90X. I plan to make the best of this opportunity and get to know as many of you as I can and I can't wait to see all of our progress in the long run.

Good luck everyone and let us all keep our heads in the game. Time to "Bring It"!

My husband and I are starting this workout on Monday. :) We're picking up my husband's heart rate monitor today, because he's never done anything like this. I come from the world of Martial Arts, so I luckily have enough background to be able to prepare him for the sweating he's about to do LOL. As far as what to expect...I have no idea. I just know that I'm excited.

Ok second time around! I did good the first month or so last time, let's see how this time shapes up. I haven't worked out in about 7 months after working out for 4 years almost everyday. I just got lost and it took awhile to find my way back! Ha Ha!

I just finished week one. The good news I am motivated!

Cheers,

Hi! I am Katie and I started P90X last week. I needed something to challenge me after completing many of my goals this summer and wanted that drive back. I am so excited to do this and have set a goal to do an unassisted pull up on our bar by Christmas! Cannot wait to crush that goal!

Hey everyone!

I just finished Day 5 of P90X and oh man am I feeling the burn. I used to be a dancer among other things, and I'm really looking forward to gaining some of my athleticism back. I love pushing myself, but I'm also loving how easy it is to modify the workouts to your own pace. I'm looking forward to completing this journey and then doing it again.

Welcome Jennifer, if your new to doing 60 minutes of strenuous exercise and I don't think you are since you made it past day one of p90x, I would consider doing 60 minutes of cardio exercise of any form a lifestyle change. I didn't make it past day 1 last May and opted to get in better shape before continuing. Well, yesterday I ran for 20 minutes straight and was debating whether to give p90x another try. Today I tried incorporating some p90x moves into my exercise routine and plan to try more strenuous exercises gradually before starting p90x in mid
August so that I will finish before the holiday season starts. Best of luck on your goals. OlderOwl.

Hello,
My name is Jennifer and I am on day two of the p90x program. My body is not too terribly out of shape, but my belly is out of proportion to the rest of me so I am trying this before I consider surgery. I am hoping for a life change, not just another weight loss fad.

Adventure isn't hanging on a rope off the side of a mountain. Adventure is an attitude that we must apply to the day to day obstacles of life--facing new challenges, seizing new opportunities, testing our resources against the unknown and our own unique potential.-----John Amatt

Hi everyone. I am 43, from Arkansas and have 2 grown daughters, 1 granddaughter, and a husband. I have had my P90x for a while now but have just got it out of the box and started watching some of the videos last night. It really looks hard lol but I am going to put my all in it. I am 179 pounds right now. I am making small goals 5 pounds at a time but I want to get down into the 120's. I am a small boned person and 5'2" so I am a little rolley polley. I am trying to eat clean and watch my portions. Night time is my hardest time of day with food. I hope to make lots of friends here and wish everyone luck!

It's not about getting what you want, it's about wanting what you got.

Carrie, congratulation on your engagement. Time to stick to your diet and exercise routine. With the support of your fiance and Spark people you can do it eventually even with several setbacks. Just continue to believe in yourself, don't ever let self doubt or off days get in your way. I would look for a personal trainer who knows about nutrition is also a vegetarian like you. With so much to look forward to next April-May, a little money spent on nutrition and exercise would seem worth it. I planned to do P90x starting September 1. In the meantime I am doing 60-90 minutes of exercise a day except I miss doing any workout of at least fifteen minutes 5 times this month. I know I can do it eventually and so can you. If you ever have any self doubt, blog about it on your Spark page. I have and found strength to continue on with all the supportive responses. OlderOwl

Welcome Cheese and Older! You both can do it! It's a tough program, but let's keep motivating each other and bring it EVERYDAY! Good luck!

I recently started planning my wedding for April/May 2014 so I have precisely nine months to get in fabulous shape before I buy a wedding dress. I have done P90X in the past but I've never made it through the whole 90 days. Tackling 9 consecutive months is going to be tough but I have to do what is necessary. I have about 75 lbs to lose and I know I can drop it in no time with P90X.

My hope is that this group will keep me motivated and on track to complete my ultimate goal.

Hi I am in my late 60's and out of shape. I already brought the P90x program but decided to put off beginning it until September. The P90x guy that called me said he understood and will call back in September. In the meantime I have been jogging/walking, now 90 minutes 4 times a week, and strength training 60 minutes 3 times a week. I lost 10 lbs since May 14 and plan to lose 6 more lbs by September. My goal is to have a strong heart, weigh 174 lbs, and be able to jog for 40 minutes straight, do ten pushups, at least 3 chin ups, and 45 situps before I start the program in September. My daughter said I shouldn't do P90x because it is not heart friendly. My cardiologist and I disagree. I have one Question through, my resting heart rate is 45 pulses per minute, after jogging for 8 minutes my heart rate goes up to 150 pulses per minute (the recommended maximum for someone my age) then it takes 1 minute of walking for the heart rate to go down to 120. I been told that the goal for exercise is to stay in the 75% - 85% max heart rate range or 112 to 128 pulses per minute. When jogging I keep finding myself at 140-148 pulses per minute or above. Is this normal for someone doing exercise such as jogging or p90x?

Welcome, I just joined this group too but I would like to welcome you to it!!!!
You would need a yoga mat, resistance bands (pull up bar and push up bars are optional) and a chair ( or I have used a ball instead)
Not sure about anything else at this time!
Good Luck!

Good Morning to all of you!
My name is Stefanie, I am a 39 year old vegan, living in Germany. Initially I lost 20 pounds with Spark People and running. Over a year ago I got a nasty and very persistent inflammation of my Achilles' tendons which forced me to quit running. Since every treatment backfired I am now searching for other ways to burn fat. I have to admit that I got a bit lazy during the last year - and 6 pounds crept back on my hips...
Problem is that I cannot do any movements which simulate running. Landing on one foot is just bad for my tendons and will worsen things. So I will just have to modify some moves, I guess.
I purchased the P90X DVDs last week and am waiting for the delivery.

Can anyone tell me what equipment is needed besides dumbbells?

Bring it!

You'll never regret a workout!

Hi there, my name is Melody, I will be starting P90X tomorrow which will be Monday June 3rd. I have done a similar, shorter program that was intense, but not near as intense as what P90 seems to me, I skimmed the first 7 DVD's and am excited and a wee bit nervous :) I have the equipment to go full force, I do have a pull up bar but thinking I will use the bands for the first week at least as my pull up bar needed to be put up in a room separate from where my DVD player will be. I am doing this virtually with some great friends in the US to keep me motivated..I am also studying online to get my Group X cert (again) and am hoping that I can continue doing the P90 program even when I have to start getting in some fitness classes at the gym..I usually workout 2-2.5 hours a day so I am thinking if I give myself enough rest between P90 and classtime I should be ok..fingers crossed. Also am training for a half marathon so it is a lot on my plate but since at present time I am unemployed I think I can manage it all right now. I want to commit for the full 90 Days and if I keep saying well I will wait, that start date may never be PERFECT. I am mentally and physically ready to take on this challenge NOW so now is the time!!!

Hi everyone,
My name is Kimberley and I will be starting P90X on May 1st. I'm excited to be starting this as this is a progam that I have had my eye on for a while now. I've had a million reasons/excusses as to why I wouldn't be able to do this program and finally just decided that enough was enough and I would set my start date! I have the app on my phone that I bought over 2 years ago that I will be starting with until my DVDs get here. I'm pumped and excited and just can't wait to start this and feel my body get stonger with each day.

If anyone experienced with the program reads this and has any pointers or tips for a newbie please reach out to me.

Thanks,
Kim

Tomorrow I am starting the X. I have my workout schedule ready, my meal program set, and I am ready to bring it and get ripped and shredded. Ha Ha!

I watched ONE dvd today and I am scared! Ha Ha! Looks intense, but maybe that is exactly what I need. 90 days I can bring it!

Cheers,

Hey everyone! I've made a huge commitment with P90X! I have decided that I KNOW it'll be hard, but that I also KNOW that I'll absolutely feel better and be proud of my results when I'm done. I've got 40-50 pounds to lose. Today is day 2 for me on P90X as well as the 30 day squat challenge. I'm pumped and feel AMAZING!

I can't wait to get to know everyone and bring it!

Hi everyone... Today is my day! Starting P90X and couldn't be more excited. I've been watching the infomercials when I work out early in the morning since there's normally not much else on and I figure they'd keep me motivated to finish whatever cardio I was doing. It got me excited to pull mine back out, blow the dust off it and actually try it this time. I'm a little concerned after reading the nutrition guide. It seems like I'll be eating a LOT more than I'm used to. Does anyone have any insight on that? I know I'm probably going to need to eat more than the 1200-1400 calories I was on but am not sure I can handle bumping up to 2400. Any advice would be appreciated!

Hi there, just wanted to stop in and say hello. My husband is starting P90X on Monday. I'm nervous, but starting with him. I've been doing Jillian Michaels' 30 day shred since the beginning of the month. Prior to that, random dvds and challenges from FB groups. I just started watching what I eat and exercising regularly the beginning of February.

Hopefully I can do this, but I'm glad this group is here to help me through this!

Have a great day!

Hi everyone! Decided that NOW is the time to get into shape. I've tried "half-heartedly" many times but I'm ready now. I just about every Beachbody program and have decided to start P90X (again) but also add in Brazil Butt Lift & Les Mill Combat but P90X will be my main workout.

This is my first rounf of P90X. I am on day 17 of the Classic Program. I have complete several rounds of P90 but have been too intimidated to do the X even though I have owned it when it first came out. I'm looking for more people that are doing P90X to stay encouraged. I look forward to getting to know everyone.

Hi everyone! I'm Kate. I've recently started my third round of P90X. They haven't been consecutive, but as 'rewards' for hitting major goals in my weight loss or at plateaus. I did my first round at 265 lbs (after losing 10 lbs and losing motivation), second at 225 lbs (the 50 lbs mark), and doing the third now at 196 lbs after exiting the obese category.

The difference between this round and my first is RIDICULOUS! I'm doing very little modifications and I can finish all the videos right from the beginning. Today is Day 3 and I feel awesome.

Good luck everyone!

Hey Team,

My name is Aaliya and I live on the beautiful island called Trinidad & Tobago down in the Caribbean. I joined this team this morning. I'm on Day 32 and going strong. February 8th & 13th was our Carnival season n i played mas, jouvert, went to fetes...the whole nine yards, so I missed almost my entire recovery week! I just see it as a *over extended* break & now i'm back on the wagon. So far I've lost 7.4lbs and my diet has not been 100% what it should be but I continue to press play & BRING IT!!!. :D

Hello fellow fitness enthusiasts!

Just joined the group, started P90x classic on Jan. 28th. Currently on week 2, Legs & Back/Ab ripper X. I'm loving the workouts so far, it's definitely what I was looking for. I didn't think I would sweat so much doing YogaX LOL! Best of luck to everyone that's started as well!

Ok here goes... I'm starting day 1 of Leans tomorrow morning and need to lose 50 lbs. I'm a dancer, so I have some muscle... but not in all the places I want it. :) And I really want to get toned and look awesome before my 25th class reunion this August! I tend to start things and then get discouraged... so really need a lot of help getting through this. Super motivated this time though. This is my year!

Hello everyone!! I am a mom of two little ones & a Marine Corps wife. My daughter is 4 and my son is 2. I got in really good shape during my hubby's first deployment. After my hubby came home I started making his favorite meals and ate along with him, so I gained some weight back and then I hurt my knee and gave up my work out routine. I now have a knee brace and am ready to get back in to shape, listen to my body, and eat clean. Some of my goal include: finishing my 1st round of P90X, gaining balance, flexibility, strength, toning-up, and fitting into my favorite shorts!! I am excited to meet you guys! Keep pressing play. emoticon

I am new to P90X. I did the first exercise today. I am still not sure about the food plan and hoping to see what others are eating, Side note I am 65. I have exercised all my life. I weigh 129 and body fat of 31%. I have a habit of hurting myself doing to much exercise.
Hope to get to know you all.
Nancy

Hello Everyone.

I've done pretty well in changing my diet and getting my life together. I've lost 40 lbs on this alone, but I'm at the stage now where I need to start getting my body into shape... this is where I tend to fall flat on my face.. I'm going do this through P90x, and hope I can find some motivation and like-minded people here.

Nice to meet all of you!

Hey team,

I'm no exactly new to P90X, but I recently started doing it again. It's cool, and I'm a member of teameachbody.com which helps a lot.

I just woke up an hour ago, so I'm still in a bit of a daze @_@

I'm on week two of the workout - not following a particular pattern, just trying to listen to my body (which is constantly telling me to "BRING IT!")

I'll check back in later, time for breakfast!

Hannah
