I have brushed and flossed right after my dinner coffee for a very long time. My WW leader years ago told us that sometimes a craving to eat is just a craving for a change of taste in your mouth. Toothpaste is a calorie free way to do that.

Brush your teeth as soon as your meal is finished.
A clean taste in your mouth helps prevent overeating.
