MIMI introduced me to Steel Cut Oats. Now that is the only oatmeal I eat. I also eat brown rice and I just love the taste and texture of barley in soups.

I'll have to try the Bob's Mill hot cereal you've mentioned. Sounds great.
I usually make my own whole-grain mixes because I buy them by bulk. I bring my own measuring cup and spoon and get what I want exactly.
I just saw a great mix of 5 whole-grains at MacDougal's book.

Five-Grain Rice
From the MacDougal Program book

1 cup brown rice
1/4 cup barley
1/4 cup wheat berries
1/4 cup millet
1/4 cup whole rye, or 1/4 cup of wild rice, or 1/8 cup of each

Combine all the ingredients and store in a tightly covered jar.
Use in recipes calling for rice or other whole-grains.

Kasha - I saute and carmalize onions with little olive oil. Add sliced mushrooms, low sodium chicken broth with 1 cup of kasha and spices and cook it until the kasha is done.

This sounds interesting: Waking up with whole-grains

I consider whole oats as steel cut or 100% whole grain old fashioned oats. I also use a 10 grain hot cereal from Bob's Red Mill. It contains wheat, corn, rye, triticale, oats, soy, millet, barley, brown rice, oat bran and flaxseed. These are all whole grains, stone ground and mixed. I think it's delicious. I keep it refrigerated after opening to keep the grains from going rancid. I usually put kasha in soups, seems to me like it takes quite awhile to cook. Do you cook it and then mix with your oats? Or eat it separately?

LOL, know what you mean about computer knowledge. I'm "limited" too.

Hi SPARKEYES
Good for you for using only whole oats.
Apple and pumpkin sounds like a winning combination.
may I ask which onces do you consider whole-oats? Thank you.
I eat steel cut oats, millet, wheat berries, kasha, brown rice.... My favorites are steel cut oats and millet.

Hi Mimi,

Thanks for the link to the Quaker Oats. I only use whole oats but they have some great ideas there and I'll definitely use some of them. I usually use whatever fruit I have on hand and some cottage cheese for protein. Apple and pumpkin is my favorite. I don't have a picture of that, sorry. I tried to upload one of peach/walnut oatmeal but could not get it to upload even though I sized it very small. Don't know what up with that 'cause I haven't been able to upload pictures with recipes lately.
