Two pounds is the WW lifetime limit whereby they hit you with the ultimate punishment: you have to pay again to weigh in! Or at least it was that way back before I let my lifetime lapse for missing the one month weigh in by about a year.
Once a week weigh in might work well for losing weight, but on maintenance I weigh every day. It's no hardship to deal with a pound or two by limiting exchanges (or points now) for a few days. Jean Nidetch says that the War on Fat really begins when you lose your weight. She still owned WW when I lost my weight and she is my hero to this day.

3-4 pounds it's a red traffic signal!
5 pounds it's a war on fat!!!

same here u are right slow and steady wins the race or so they say
Really need to lose it first, having a hard enough time but slow and steady!
Another reason to weigh more than once a week
i follow weight watchers and 2 lbs is what they say is allowable, for maintianing goal weight too, after 2 lbs its harder to get it back under control.
