Thanks for the introduction Terry, and welcome! There are so many great resources here! I recommend starting with the nutrition/food tracker because that is the key element in weight loss for most people. Then, once you're comfortable with tracking your food on a daily basis, start exploring more areas of this site. I still find something new here almost every day. By tracking everything since May 2011 and using the other features here to keep myself focused, I lost 90 pounds and have maintained that loss for almost a year now. It takes a little bit of time, but it is sooooo worth it! Let us know whenever you have questions or need encouragement!
So sorry about your mom. Glad she was a catalyst in your journey as she lives on in that! Love that you're a PCA. I'm a SPED para with our school district. God Bless your work. I can appreciate your sentiment about looking at yourself, but please don't call yourself an ugly fat person. You're a person, who happens to be "fat" and is doing something about that! EXCELLENT!!! Good luck!
ps. so jealous of you living downtown SP. LOVE it there.

Hi everyone My name is Terry and I'm a young 34year old college student from Downtown Saint Paul Minnesota. I work as a personal care attendant with All Home Health Inc. What got me in the mood to lose weight was my mother who passed on April of this year. Another thing that got me to wanting to lose weight is looking at myself and seen me as this ugly fat person. So I will be starting the ymca here in two days so now I will be feel good.
