Welcome Neighbor (I also live near Nokomis, great area)! There are a ton of resources here on SparkPeople, I hope that you find it as motivating and helpful as I have! Breaking your goals up into mini-goals is a great plan! I also recommend starting with the nutrition/food tracker (if you haven't already), because that is the key element in weight loss for most people.
