I'm from ST. john's, what part of the ilsand are you from?
Just started this week, and i'm finding it very helpful, so much info and resources. Any advice on how to get the most out of this site.
Hi Wendy and welcome,
I've been a member of SP since 2006, however I started really using the site in Jan 08. Since that time, I've lost 54 pounds and I am well on my way to being a healthy woman.
Good luck on the journey and we are all here to help.
PS: some of the workouts on here are amazing and require nothing other than a set of small weights, a ball and a elastic band! Try the bikini workout for some great strength training!

Welcome, Wendy, and hello, everyone! My name is JoAnn, I'm from NS. I joined SP in April and I recommend it to everyone, even my sister who doesn't need to lose a pound but wants to get toned.
There is so much information here that I find it really helps me stay on track. The message boards are great for seeing what everyone is dealing with and realizing that you're not alone.
Sorry to hear about the stroke. My sister had a stroke at 58. She hasn't recovered as well as we would have liked. That was one of my motivations to lose the weight I had gained. Thankfully, I have lost a lot-almost down to normal BMI. So I'll stay with it.
There's a lot here to help and it doesn't cost a cent. Good luck!
Hi and welcome Wendy,
My name is Wanda from Newfoundland and I've been with SP for almost 3 years. I am ashamed to say that I have gained back the weight that I lost but I keep coming back here because I know how great it is. I think the key is to take the time for yourself in order to exercise and spend some time here getting some motivation. My problem is that I am always putting someone or something else before myself (kids, husband, school, volunteering). It doesn't always work out for the best but I refuse to stop trying.
Keep coming back...use the resources here and get involved in the discussions, they are great motivation!
There is no failure except no longer trying.
If at first you don't succeed you're running about average.
hi Wendy, welcome aboard! I was on SP this past spring/summer and loved it. Now, i am back and hoping that it will help me to get the last few pounds off. I love reading all the posts, very inspirational and helps to motivate me for sure.
I hope to see you around!
oh....I am in NS

Hi Wendy and Welcome!!
This is the right place to be to get support, motivation, workouts and other tips. Check out Coach Nicole's videos for some intense workouts.
Good luck on your journey
Welcome Wendy. I hope the SP site helps you as much as it helped me. I've lost 33 lbs with this site and it hasn't cost me a cent. I spend a lot of time on it, track my food every day and exercise almost every day and track that too. It seems that being accountable is the best way for me. At the end of the day I check to see if I have any calories left to have a snack in the evening. That's my trouble time. I hope it works for you. I (usually) live in Moncton but we spend the winter in the south now that we're retired. It's great because I can get out and bike, hike and walk. Good luck and keep in touch. Diane
Hi there! My name is Wendy and I live in Atlantic Canada. I am a single mom of 3. Last year I participated in the local version of the "Biggest Loser". It expensive, comprehensive, and a whole lot of fun! I lost 60 lbs quickly and I felt great! Unfortunately, this past spring, I suffered a stroke. The good news is that I have pretty much fully recovered... The bad news is that I have regained nearly all of my weight in the process. I am out of cash to join gyms and local groups, so I am hoping to find the support I need here!
