A gastric sleeve is a permanent removal of most of the stomach, leaving you with a "sleeve" shape attached to the small intestine. This way, it only limits the amount of food you can eat, but does not interfere with the absorption of nutrients. It is the only type of weight loss surgery performed at the QEII in Halifax.
Hi there and welcome! I have to ask what gastric sleeve surgery is...I haven't heard of that one!
There is no failure except no longer trying.
If at first you don't succeed you're running about average.
I, I am a newbie in Dartmouth. I am 53 years old and a person of small stature. I have gained a lot of weight in the past 2 years and am finally going to do something about it. I have been accepted as a possible candidate for gastric sleeve surgery, and need to prepare for a completely new lifestyle. Thus the new plan, new activity and new motivation. Would love to talk to anyone around here for mutual encouragement.
