I saw that this team needed a leader so I am stepping forward. A little background on me:
I started my business last summer after yet another contract expired. With a really poor outlook on contracts for IT project managers in my area, I decided to start a senior move management business. I help seniors who are moving from their homes into a smaller residence, such as a senior community or assisted living facility. I set up their new floor plan, guide them through the downsizing process, and pack for them. I then do the unpacking and set up their new residence from making the beds to hanging pictures.
Unfortunately I am having a difficult time getting the business off the ground. I have consulted with a couple of sales and marketing folks through SCORE and the Florida Women's Business Center, both of which are funded by the SBA. Hopefully their advice will be fruitful for me. Otherwise I will have to go back to the 8-5 grind sitting in an office all day, and I kind of don't want to do that!
On the fitness front, I am around my goal weight. Actually I would like to be a little under as I enjoy racing - both running and triathlon. I have found it's easier to haul myself around if I weigh less. I recently completed my first marathon, but since distance running wastes muscle, I now need to build that back up. I'm looking for that perfect balance of muscle and racing weight. I am not a vegetarian, but I try to keep the meat to a minimum. As a distance runner, nutrition is very important so I closely watch what I'm eating.
If there is anything that you feel would help you along with your work-life balance, please let me know or post your questions. I know what a challenge it can be.
