thanks and we do have something in common. I have had drama with the girls for years and never can understand how they think. I was so devoted to my mom and dad and never would have called them any names. I did reach out and got a somewhat of a letter but I will tell my thearpist on wed don't think I will send anymore unless she can write back. There are times hubby and I want to move and just dump the house and junk move and tell no one. My son has his problems but he is the only one that offers to help us with projects. I am almost 67 and hubby 69 retired but working 12 hr days and this week 7 days. 4 kids living, 2 kids that died and 6 grandchildren. I keep praying for answers and maybe with the help of therapy can finally forgive myself for what ever I did to them? Motherhood is tuff married at 18 and kids came almost every year.

Hi JAZZERCISEGF emoticon First I want to say thank you. I think that sometimes when things are going on in our lives, were the only ones that it's happening to. But why I was saying thank you was, I have 3 daughters. Have been going alot of what you said with the 2 oldest. It goes back and forth. They come back, I get my hopes up, then (what I call kicked in the face) Now just this week I said i'm doing. Tired of the, hopes up, getting kicked down and crying. Our last just went off to college. But with what each of the younger see, they say (we wouldn't do that then?) So now with the last all I can say is, we will see. As for that pill I know that theres not 1 but I would be wanting the same, it to take away all the bad and sad things. I have had family members that had (alzheimer's) Now first please don't anyone get mad, or upset. But my husbands grandmother had it. And all she remembered was all the happy in her life. And i'm sorry to say , but at times I have said I would like to be like her. She never remembered (anyone that hurt her, was mean to her, or just anything bad in her life) Untill the day she died she was just happy thoughts! So I am here with you JAZZERCISEGF. Me with my husband of 29 years and I will keep him, but like you said a littleless stress. And to a good new week for you and prayers to you emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

cradle catholic my oldest sister left for the convent when I was a baby. Life in the 50's seemed so carefree church, mass, prayers, devotions ect. Respect for parents, elders friends teachers nuns. I am so struggling with life and death. Death 2 sisters one in 2010, one in 2011. Then my daughters dropped me like a hot potato for reasons I don't understand and as time goes by instead of crying thanking God for getting their drama out of my life. I am in therapy after struggling with ending my life but now realize what a big mistake that would have been I have started another plan low carb 1200 for 2 weeks then increase 1600. It worked before so trying it again. I want some magic pill the will make weight, money troubles, marriage (48) years go away not the marriage but just less stressful. Praying daily sometimes eveymin. I am working on painting and redoing some of the rooms in our big old house. I want to succeed and truly wish to be happy and fulfilled. Motherhood is gone for me. Grandchildren living there lives and busy. I take care of my husbands aunt 95 she lives in nursing home she is funny, alone and this is my way to get to heaven maybe?

Convert: when I was in graduate school doing an M.Ed. in Counseling Psychology at Loyola U in Chicago, I became very interested in theology and basically read my way in -- after reading John Henry Newman's Apologia Pro Vita Sua, I had to convert (from the Episcopal Church). That was in 1989 and I've never regretted that decision. Now, my husband and I are doing Marriage Preparation Seminars for the Diocese of Venice and also teaching the Catholicism Series (Fr. Robert Barron) at our local parish. What a great faith the Catholic Church teaches.

So good to have you with us!

SNOWYOGA - what wonderful news that your husband decided to join the Church as well!

BBONET - the Faith is often the only solid thing in people's lives, when all else is falling around them.

Cradle, but due to a parents split, I was away for a while, So I came back and went thru classes. Our daughters went to Catholic school, and my husband desided on his own to join the church. He never objected to our girls going,(evev thought he wasn't Catholic) but after the lose of his grandparents and my grandmother he just said he wanted to do this. So with his job, he did the (mail classes) and if I may say (I was very proud, of his test scores) He made me want to learn more, so I am going to start some new studies, when things start to clam down (stress) my youngest going off to college. Sorry for going on thats another story, another time. Thank you for listening and have a goodnight

Hi! I am a cradle catholic- went to Catholic school, am a Eucharistic Minister, my children went to catholic elementary and high school and I currently teach at a Catholic School.
I have always embraced my religion and my faith has helped me through a lot of adversaries in my life. However, if I did not have my faith I would not be standing. This past year has been a difficult one with the health of my youngest son and the only thing that kept me going was my faith. emoticon emoticon

Hi my name is Tammy. I am a convert. I decided to convert to Catholicism in 2008 going through confirmation at the 2009 Easter Vigil (what a RUSH). I had such a wonderful experience when I went through RCIA I decided to give back by becoming a team member helping new Catholics. My dad was raised Catholic but converted to another faith when he became an adult. When I think about it, I think I was always a Catholic at heart.

Thank you for having a team for us Catholic Critters. :-)

Praying for everyone! My marriage is recognized by the Church, but has not been blessed... yet. I was away from the Church when my DH and I married in the Untied Methodist Church. I am hoping we will get it blessed before Christmas. That is what I am going to ask DH for, for my Christmas this year. I do not think he will object.
I am going to ask my priest about if I can get DH to Mass, if DH can come forward with me at Communion and get a blessing. That might be a step in the right direction to open him to converting...
I, too, understand how "man" messes things up! When I see how St. Faustina was treated, and St. Pio, nothing is a surprise when it comes to the devil trying to move us away from God.
We must keep saying our Rosaries and keep constant in our prayer!

Thank you Milliac. I appreciate your thoughtful response. It can be so difficult for me sometimes, but I do my best to get past it. Sometime I'll have to tell the rest of my story. But believe me, I feel blessed to have my spiritual life through the years. And as I told Leslie, I know this is from man, not our Lord.

Ev...your post has been on my mind since I first saw it, and my heart aches for you and the Holy Spirit has reminded me daily to respond. Sorry it's taken so long. I too understand the hurt of not being able to participate fully in the sacraments of the church. I, fortunately did receive annulment, but have yet to validate my current marriage, (and yes I also struggle to believe we are living in sin), but I have come to believe in the wisdom of tradition of the church and JP2's message.. My husband is actually Hindu. As a family, we do attend mass together weekly. We all go for blessings during communion, which is often awkward, but I will say a spiritual communion as taught by Padre Pio, and REJOICE that HE has called me and myfamily to the supper of the. Even though i may not actively participate in receiving communion, I can always sing and pray for my brothers and sisters in Christ. Blessed am I and my husband and son to be called by HIM. Is anyone really worthy to receive Him, but by His grace? Please don't let this one thing turn you from the truth, the way, and the light. With or without the sacraments. My prayers are with you. Please find the other graces in the church that can also bring you closer to God. The lay Catholic media is in a mission to catechize and evangelize. Thank be to God! Remember that Christ is most able to reach us in our brokenness. Peace be with you.

Thank you for the prayers. I keep seeking the annulment but get no where. The church made an error with me and they will never admit being wrong, so I doubt it will ever be granted.

Leslie, the priest I had told me without the annulment, I could not receive the sacraments - any of them. I guess our marriage is considered invalid and that we are living together "in sin". We were married by a justice of the peace here in FL. Bob received his annulment with no problems. We thought mine would be easier. The tribunal where I received my divorce, claimed I was baptized three times. They were using the dates of two of my cousins! I was baptized in a Disciples of Christ Church!! I warned it was a long story. And I haven't even told all of it!!

I know the prayers will help. I believe one can never have too many prayers!!

Ev, I'm so sorry about your situation. I don't understand why not receiving the annulment would preclude you from receiving communion. I wouldn't like to go to Mass either if I couldn't receive. I will also pray with you.

I'm convert in 1977. I was a lector, an officer in Altar and Rosary Society, and the choir. Then I tried for an annulment and have never received it. It's a very long story. I started the process in 2000. Now I rarely go to Mass. If I can't have communion, I don't want to participate. Our Priest keeps trying to get me to come, but I resist. I pray, read my Bible, and do the rosary at home and am happy with that. I do miss the homilies, though.

emoticon I am a convert, I joined the Catholic Church in 2006, I have been very active in my community I was a facilitator in our RCIA group and also I am a Eucharistic Minister I love taking Communion to those who are unable to attend Mass due to illness. My husband and I had our marriage validated through the Church in 2006 and then I received my Sacraments it was an amazing year. I joined SparkPeople to begin my journey to Gastric Bypass surgery, I have met all the requirements and I am waiting for the surgery team to call me with a surgery date. I have found this medium to be a very supportive and encouraging group of people. I am happy to have found a group that is Faith based.

Lori - that faith can be a part of our healthy journeys alludes me at times. I am still reminding myself of the necessity of it, because I certainly can't do it by myself!

SOUTHERNMOM - the Holy Spirit works in such wonderful ways. I am glad you listened to the 'leading'.

TANTAN-DIANE - you were raised atheist - what drew you to the Church?

DJ1SKYWALKER - congratulations! That's great that your husband was your sponsor. Sharing the same faith in our marriage is a great blessing for me. When we were married, we had a "mixed marriage" as I was Anglican. I love that we agree about matters of faith now.

SGWILLIM - you definitely need to start somewhere. I am excited for you! You have a lot ahead of you. We will be honoured and greatly blessed if you share some of your journey with us as your travel your path.

What if we woke up tomorrow with only those things that we thanked God for today?

SGWILLIM: Yes, you do have to start somewhere! Glad you're here!

LORI1132: Mary inspires me, and IMHO She "gets" us women, as our human connection, and She will answer your prayers. Keep your focus on health in lieu of vanity, and your temple will be amazing!

Prayers for all today! May you all be blessed!

Cradle...I've taken an interesting path, but always find comfort in Our Holy Mother. Somehow, it never occured to me to place the same faith in my weight loss struggles...I guess I always thought I was having to make my body good enough to be a Temple on my own. Will be working to change that thought.

Convert - Raised Baptist with my mom and would attend Methodist services when visiting my grandmother. Converted around age 20. My boyfriend, who is now my husband, was my sponsor and we have been married almost 20 years.

Convert! I was raised pentecostal-by the time i became a teen I knew something wasn't right-so it began a life long search...now that I look back I see I was being led to the Catholic Church...now I am on my way home. I seriously cannot believe Catholicism had all the answers-and I was just taking my time getting here! :)

I love hearing everyone's stories! They are all different, but we are all the Church. It is beautiful!
