Hello and a blessed 2nd Sunday of Lent to you all. I am looking forward to getting to know you and to supporting each other in reaching our goals. A little bit about me:

I'm 46, a grad student working toward a masters of science degree in counseling: Marriage and family therapy, I attend daily Mass as often as possible, and I am a Eucharistic minister. I am going to begin doing bereavement ministering soon as well, and the deacon is working with Father to see about starting a counseling center to do family therapy, so I am hoping to be doing that as well eventually ... all in God's time.

Hi. I come from a very Catholic family! Through my grandparents' generation we had many priests and nuns in our family, though very few from my parents' generation onward. I have three children whom we are raising Catholic even though my husband is not. My kids are 16, 11 and 7. I am happy to be here!

I am Catholic( Born into a big family, number 7 out of 8 kids!) I Have 5 kids and 2 grandsons. My 2 youngest kids are still at home and I am raising them alone as a single parent now.
We have been walking a lot since we have no vehicle for now.. One month ago we were in a car accident( rear ended) so I have whiplash and gained weight following the accident.
I hope that having no car can be manageable and the walking is awesome!
I so see that God is working in mysterious ways to help us feel the community around us as various people help us with rides or help in other ways. I have had so much on my shoulders, this is kind of a nice change for us. We attend Mass weekly and can walk to Mass !

Hello! I'm a longtime lurker (when I've been active on SP), but I'm working on strengthening my Catholic faith, so I figure I'll benefit more from being active in the group and making new friends. I've been a member of SP for awhile, but never very seriously. My husband and I have decided to have a third child, so I've got to get healthy before that happens!

I'm also working on my relationship with Christ. I've been a Catholic since I was 7 years old, but I've never really studied the faith or was serious about it. I feel that my life is better when I do spend time in God's word each day, so that is my goal for 2016.

I'm looking forward to getting to know you all! Happy New Year!

Good Morning -

I am returning to this team after a time away from spark people. I had decided to give it all up and let things go. What a mistake that was and I began to pay for it health wise so I returned to Spark People with a new ID (which I have promised I will never delete again as I lose too many friends that way and can't find them when I come back) I have been slowly watching my weight come down for what I truly believe is the last time as I gave it all to God and was inspired just to follow two things and since then my loss has been nearly a pound a week. I am tracking all my food until spring and then I will just track my meditation walks. I say the rosary as I start my morning walk and then listed to the Catholic playlist or the Catholic SIP (stands for staying in prayer) and just spend time with God to start my day.

Looking forward to renewing friendships with old friends here and making new ones.
God Bless

Hugs - Alicia

Good idea. When we can't change something, we can always do that. And pray for acceptance of the situation.

Take care.

I can attest to that, especially when they keep changing it and my body can't get accustomed to a new schedule. I have bad sleep habits as it is, and this is not helping it any. But we all have our crosses to bear, so I just offer it up as penance!

2nd shift is 3 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. and 3rd shift (graveyard shift) is 11:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m. THis new job keeps shuffleing me between the two shifts, and I am starting to think I am too old for this!

Please tell me what 2nd and 3rd shift are. I am ignorant! I am guessing one of them is the "graveyard" as we call it here, but I'm not sure ...

Hi everyone. I am new here as well. That's me and my hubby of 43 1/2 years in the pic. I am a convert to Catholicism and until about 6 years ago, that was in name only pretty much. Yes we went to church every Sunday and I even went to one weekday mass each week, but I never really knew how special the Church is. About 6 years ago, I started going to Bible Study at our parish and WOW! How much I have learned and how much the Lord has opened my eyes and heart to His Bride of Christ, the church. My husband and I have 7 children, all grown, and 15 grandchildren. I love the Lord, and although my husband was slow to come, he is now joining in our Bible Study and going to other church teaching kind of events. I feel so blessed by that. Nice to meet all of you and I look forward to sharing with you and reading your entries as well. Amen

Hi everyone, I'm new here!

My name is Christina, and I live in Wisconsin with my husband, seven-year-old son, and cat. I joined the Catholic church in 2003 after having attended masses with my husband (then boyfriend) and found myself drawn to the church. I work in IT, and for fun I enjoy running, reading, cooking, and traveling. Disney World is one of my favorite places to visit. Nice to meet all of you!

Good morning,
My name is Debbie and I'm new to the team. I love this team. I was a member a while back but I changed my user name and started fresh on my spark page.
May God bless all of you this day and I wish you success on your weight loss journey.

Hello! I am Margaret and new to the group this year. I am glad to find a Catholic team here. I joined spark people to become healthier and lose weight during that journey. I am wanting to regain energy and reverse some health issues. I am looking forward to being a part of the team.

Welcome to the Team.

There are a lot of women on this team, so maybe you can get some of your female fix in here, lol!

Hi everyone! I'm a mom to two toddlers and a 7 month old (all boys. send help! lol), as well as a wife to my husband and a student of, well, anything I can get my hands on. I'm looking into going back to school and getting an associates in computer programming so I can find a work from home job, and when we find a new parish (need one more geared towards young families, our current one has nothing for little ones) I'll be starting the process to become a catechist in our diocese. I'm in the absolute worst shape of my life, and that coupled with depression/anxiety has made me a wreck. I'm tired of it and ready for a change. I'm looking forward to connecting with everyone! Thanks! :D

I already know what giving up feels like. I want to know what happens if I don't.

I am new to the group, but not to SP. I taught Catholic day school in Cleveland for 3 years, and have started my 6th year of teaching PSR at our church. I am a graduate of 13 years of a Catholic education (K-12), so I know the basics. Sometimes it is the faith in God's plan that is much more difficult to comprehend. I have started a 90 day Fitness Challenge based on a book I saw (and bought) sitting on the bookshelf in the back of the church while pick my kid up from choir. I have looked at that case dozens of times and this time this book jumped out at me, so I am taking it as a sign. If anyone ever has any questions or suggestions please send me an email, I love sharing our faith to the best of my ability.

God Bless!!!

May you have success on your journey because it is going to take a lot more than luck to succeed.

- Angela

You might want to sign up for RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) at your local parish. This will get you back involved with the church and refresh your knowledge of the Catholic faith as well. If you know someone that belongs, they could be your sponsor.

Welcome to the Team, Janelen!

Do you have a church in mind that is nearby? Have you ever been to that church? Do you know anyone there? Know the Mass times? Do you feel you could go and introduce yourself to the priest? Perhaps make plans to avail yourself of the sacrament of confession?

Hello all,

My name is Janelen. I have been married for twenty five years and I have four grown sons. I would like to get back to my Catholic roots. It is my heritage and I want to be a part of it again. I have missed practicing my faith. My hope is that you all will guide me on how to do that.

Peace be with you all,

Janelen
