Welcome Back, Michelle. I'm a recent returnee too... after taking off basically a year. Wt. is down from last year but still about 15 lbs to go. Miss my Catholic Critters team too and all the great support we give each other.

Hi Michelle, welcome back! I am also a convert to Catholicism, and am repeating RCIA this year because it is being taught by a priest this time around and I am learning a lot. I'm sorry about your health problems, and hope they'll all get sorted out. I know it's hard to lose weight on some medications, but I believe it is possible, even if it's slower than for others. Best wishes to you! Leslie

Being on predisone is really hard on the body and can cause weight gain so you have a challenge on your hands.
I've never been anything but a Catholic but we were so marginal growing up that I often feel more like a convert. I studied and chose my faith as an adult.
Do you ever watch EWTN? One of my favorite programs is the Journey Home about converts to the faith. Listening to the journeys of Pastors and how they came to understand the Church is always so interesting to me.

Hello! This is my second time here. I was here briefly about one year ago, but let my health problems win. I canít remember the old password/email so Iím starting over again.
My name is Michelle, Iím married and have one grown son. I had lost quite a bit of weight while trying to control my diabetes, but I have also been battling Sarcoidosis in my lungs for a year or so. The Dr. has finally had to put me on prednisone which pushed my blood sugar numbers up making me insulin dependent. Along with that has come some weight gain and feeling like Iím losing control of several areas of my life which is what brings me back to Sparkpeople.
I'm also a convert to the Catholic faith and always looking for more Catholic friends.
Anyway, HelloÖagain! I plan to stick around this time!
