Over the last 8 years I've gained 126 lbs. Partly due to menopause, but also because of eating differently than I had been plus a good bit of stress since 2009 when I almost lost my husband to congestive heart failure. He's still here thank God but he has a severly weak heart, so I tend to stress eat at times, especially in the evenings. I'm really trying to get my body back down to a size I can be comfortable with. I no longer own a scale but can weigh at the fitness center. My last weigh in I was 257 lbs and I really would like to at least get back down to 196 lbs. That would still make me over weight but I'd be a lot healthier than I am now.

Hi everyone! I'm new to the team.
I'm 26 and have been on a weight roller coaster since I was 20. I got serious about my health at 21 and did GREAT losing for a while (from 245 to 182) over about a year. Then I slowly started to back slide. I had creeped back up to 200 about 6 months after my wedding (23). Then I got pregnant and gained 75 pounds (which is about double recommended healthy gain). After that I also fell ill. Fighting my illness for 8 months meant everything else took a back seat. I'm back up to 243 now. I've been told by my doctor that healthy range for my height/build is about 145 to 160. So, 80 pounds to go now.
I'm back on Spark now (used Spark the first time I lost my weight). I'm really glad to have a community of support I can count on
One day at a time.

Hello everyone! I am a 29 year old mother to a beautiful 9 month old girl...I packed on 40 pounds when my husband and I moved to the North and when I got pregnant I gained another 30. I had never been above the 200 mark until last year at my highest of 230. I have got down to 207 but am struggling to stay motivated and get loosing. Hoping for encouragement and motivation...so nice to feel like I'm not alone. Strength in numbers, we can do this!

Hi Everyone! It's been a number of years since I've been under the 200 mark. Came close in 2009 but went right back up again. Hoping this time that it "sticks."

Hopefully I'll come back each week with some good progress :)

Hello Team - I've lost 25 lbs so far, but everytime I get close to the 200 lb mark on the scale I gain back 5 or 10 lbs, so I know I have to address some issues about moving to onederland and hope to pick up some pointers on how to move there to stay. Have a great week!

My name is karen and i'm 26 years old. I had a child 5 years ago at which I started my weight at 180, and at my heaviest last year, was 256 lbs. Last year i'd decided to buy a scale and when I saw that number I just wanted to die, how could my weight get so heavy? So last year the decision was made to lose weight, and I did really really well, i'd gone down 27 lbs and had bounds of energy. Then when my weight had plateaud the exercise slowly stopped and the eating well had faded. Now i've gained back about 10 lbs and am kicking myself that I hadn't kept up with the exercise. I'm hoping this time I will keep with the exercise and dieting and with the help of this site it better happen!

My name is Evelyn and I joined this team today. I am 24 years old and from Perth, Australia. In January I gave my weight loss journey a good red hot go and joined a gym and started eating healthy and so far have lost 15lbs.
I've hit a bit of a barrier and so gonna try to re-motivate myself and go harder at the gym. I haven't really been in my HR zone when at the gym so gonna try running as that always spikes it up. Also gonna tweak with my diet and eat more veggies as I think I'm under-eating. Anyway, having weigh-ins seems like a good idea to keep me motivated. :)

I joined a few months ago and signed up for too many things. I have decided to start with just this one team and fully participate, then I will see about other teams. I am middle aged and weigh 230 lbs. I gained back 40 lbs in the last year or two and my health and self-esteem is suffering. I am lately getting better with food and exercise. I realized that I was trying to do too much, too fast. I have to slowly get back into healthy eating habits and regular intensive exercise. I will be very happy when I reach my first goal of 199lbs.

Hello, my name is Tam and I am so inspired by reading the posts on this forum! I am so happy to be here and I hope I can be an asset to this team. I am currently at 253 pounds; my first goal is to get to 200. I just turned 40 in October and I feel like I am too young to be having health issues like high blood pressure and high cholesterol. I know that the weight is most of the problem and I don't want to have a heart attack just because I was too complacent to change my bad habits!
I need to make a commitment to develop healthier eating and exercise habits. I know that I can do this if I take small steps and if I don't give up. I have lost weight in the past by just eating sensibly and increasing exercise, but I always slacked off at some point and gained it all back. This time, I want it to stick.

Hey all! I'm Lauren and when I first joined this site I dreamed of being able to join a team like this! I weighed in at 308.8 in June 2011 and have lost about 90lbs since then. Between the holidays, new boyfriend and stress, I've managed to "only" maintain for the past few months, but would love to lose the next 60lbs in the next 4-5months. I've found a passion for running, recently joined the gym and have recommitted to healthy eating! I currently weigh 217 and cannot "weight" to say god riddance to the "2's"!!!

Hey everyone well i was apart of this group back in 2007 and i did really well on the bootcamp elimination. Since then I have went thru atleast 2 computers and alot of info i have lost so it took me awhile to find myself back to this group. I have had 2 more children since and i have started loosing weight again and im getting close to onederland and i would like to be so by my next bday (in august) i will be 30. I actually went back and found the original challenge i did back in the day went from 201 to 193 in 4 weeks i would like to do this again. Hubby still works overseas so i would love to be atleast 210 when he comes home in feb. i have been stuck at 212 214 for the last 3 months ready to shake it up a bit and get serious.
I'm not afraid....my own little saying that I say every morning or while im exercising, their is a new challenge every day and I cant allow myself to be afraid....In the world of autism their is never a non eventful day for this and my son each challenge must be met head on.

Hi everyone I'm Andi, I've been an off and on Sparker since 2009. The reason off and on is I was never really committed. I wanted results and I wanted them fast and with the least amount of work. This summer I was pushing 230 and I'm 5'4. The problem is I see myself as a big girl but I never as fat. I'd see pics of me and go Oh wow, I've gotten a little big. But never a OMG who is that whale, kind of girl. And I'll joke about being fat and everyone goes no you are not and when I would tell them how much I weigh they were not NO WAY! You do not! So I guess I've been content being overweight. At least on the outside anyway. But I'd never make that change, I'd wish it or want it to happen but I wouldn't do ANYTHING to get there. This summer changed all of that. I was getting ready to turn 35 and my mom had her first heart attack at 40 and my grandfather at about the same age. I had some testing done and found that my cholesterol was WAY high. In red on the lab results it read "cardiac risk: Imminent" that's all it took. I started walking more, eating a little better, joined a gym that opened in November. Just after christmas I made the leap back to SP and got real serious at the gym. In November I weighed 221 and today I weigh 207. My first goal is to hit 199 and I'm so close!

I'm a student. I'm at 240 right now. That number is pretty horrifying to me. I've been yoyo dieting for years and I don't know how I got up to that number! But I'm feeling good about what I'm doing! I'm on my second week with my weight loss plan! My goal is to never be in the 200s again!

Hi all! I'm Monica, 45 and currently sitting at 224. I started the SP journey in mid August at 230. I havent lost much, but my lifestyle is changing. Three 1/2 years ago I was at 189 and 10 years ago I was at 150. I was in the low 200's in my late 20's. I've yo-yo'd all my life, so I know that I can do this. I want to learn lifestyle changes so that the yo-yo'ing stops! My goal is back to 150 by the time I'm 50 yrs old! I want to be able to run and play with my granddaughter - who will be 6 when I'm 50. I can do this with SP support and friends!
Its not the destination but the journey that matters. The journey to learn to live a healthy, active lifestyle.

Just wanted to say hey, Im Anna. Age:21 Weight as of this AM: 220.8 :-) I have lost 10 lbs since 8/29/11. I want to get down to 160 atleast. My largest weight was 280 at the age of 15-16. I lost 90 lbs by the time I was 17-18, got down to 190. Didn't stay there long. Maintained a weight of 205-215 at 19. At 20-21 gained back up to 235. Finally on the right track and down to 220.8
Anything is possible if you try hard enough :-)

Hello everybody, My name is Luna, I am 22, and I weigh 214 and I need to be somewhere around 145, so I need to lose 69 pounds. Since I was 12 I have fluctuated back and forth between 180 and 250. I have managed to stay below 220 for a few years now, (excluding during my pregnancy). Hopefully, this year will be my breaking point and finally get away from the usual routine.

I was down to 229 before I got pregnant and am now back up to 264. It's finally time to start back down and get into shape again. I have never been below 200 but that is my goal. I'm 26 years old and weighed in at 220.8 pounds on Monday, February 21. That was a huge wake up call for me. I haven't weighed in about ohhhh 3 years and was totally thrown when I saw that number. I found this website a few days later and with the tips and tracking site I've created my own weight loss program. The advice I've found on SP has been truly amazing and from people who have done it the right way.
My second weigh in was on Monday, February 28 and I now way 218. 6. That's 2.2 pounds!! My first weigh in gave me the motivation to fight for my life back my second weigh in gave me the push to keep going. I wonder what my third weigh in will do for me? And the next, and the next, and the next.... Gotta keep pushing myself daily but this time I AM GOING TO DO IT!!

I am Rick and I am trying to get a handle on my weight. I injured my back pretty bad while in the Army in 2000. At that time I was weighing about 145 lbs. I went from being in the best shape of my life to gaining 15 lbs in 6 months, and the weight continued to grow until my back injury forced me out of the Army 6 years later. At that time I was weighing 185, and since I got out the increase just kept growing to my current weight of 243. I am sick with myself and finally have set out to make a difference.

Hello everyone! I am Jessica and I am almost 31 years old. I have been stuck at 200+ for going on 5 years now. The reason I chose to join this team is because of the fact everyone here is working to get under 200 and there is no daily weigh in LOL. I am trying to break a HUGE habit which is weighing in daily. Anyways, it's good to be here.

Hi, I'm Brianna & the fact that I can join a team about being over 200 lbs is so sickening to me. I cannot wait to wave goodbye to the 200's forever!

Hi I am Marva and I am well over 200 at this point. I just said goodbye to the 290s and happened upon this group. My ultimate weight goal is to weigh 140 pounds. I have a way to go, so I'll be on this team for a while.

Hello all! I'm Nyssa and I'm new to the team. I currently weigh about 225 pounds and I'm looking forward to the day when I will be under 200 pounds again. It's been many years since I was in the 100's.

Hello everyone! So many new people on the team. :)
Let me give you a quick tour (though I've seen some of you posting in the other threads). This team is a good place to connect with people and get those all important spark points. :)
If you are interested in a buddy, please advertise in the Buddy thread. I think I'll be doing a match maker session this weekend to pair up anyone who doesn't yet have a buddy.
We do have challenges here on the team and you will all participate. The current challenge is always the first sticky thread in the Challenges section. This weeks challenge was to try two new recipes. See if you can get one in before it gets changed this weekend. :)
There is also a thread here called 'Today I'm great because...' There you are encouraged to post one thing that you did great during the day. It's all about the little things in life. Recognize when you've made a small win.
If you have any questions or suggestions, please let me know!

I'm Michelle and I only have 23 pounds to lose to be under 200 but I feel like that's a mountain. I can't even remember now the last time I was under 200. I'm really looking forward to seeing the first number on the scale be a 1. It'll also mean I've lost 10% of my body weight. A good start indeed!

Hey guys! I'm Kim (or Rizzo) and I'm on my way to under 200.. 5.6 pounds down, 18.4 to go! My ultimate goal is 90-100, but I'm measuring in 25s. I've only been here at Spark for a week and yeah, I lost that 5.6 pounds in that amount of time. I LOVE THIS PLACE!
I can overcome anything.

I am over 200 pounds, but (hopefully) not for long! About a year ago, I lost 36 pounds and quit at 200.6 pounds. I am my own worst saboteur! Since joining SP in July, I have lost 15 pounds. Just another 16 pounds to lose to weigh 199. I will not quit this time.
