Ok, I finally started! I am on day 6 and so far so good. I did the daily check in this morning and will do that every day. So glad there is a team here for this!

I know what you mean. When I did this four years ago, I felt like I needed to wait for the "right time" to start. But then I just jumped in because there was a group starting (a teleconference). It worked out very well. Truly there is no "right time". The whole idea is learning how to handle this during all of the normal life times!

Good luck getting started. (I'm working on starting to lose again, but even though I have great advice for you, I am not taking the advice quite yet! I hope I get moving!)

Honestly, I am afraid to start. I haven't done day one yet. I am having huge issues with PMS and perimenopause and feel so completely out of control... I go to training next week for my job so plan to take the book with me and spend some of the quiet time (NO FAMILY) working through things.

That advice about putting on your own oxygen mask is one of my favorite quotes. We are no good to anyone else if we don't take care of ourselves!

I have been on Spark for several years too. I lost 30 pounds, slowly and "for the last time". Then last winter I hit a depression and regained most of it. I stopped working out and stopped caring what and how much I eat. I gave up.

I read about SP in a magazine years ago, and have been ever so thankful! emoticon Last month I read about it again, and on one of the next pages was a woman talking about the Beck Diet Solution. I immediately ordered the book and the workbook. (Now I see one or the other would have done nicely, but oh well.)

Just the first part that I have read so far has really resonated with me. I also see that my family needs to learn a lot of the same stuff I do! My youngest child especially. He is 8 and has quite literally eaten himself sick several times. That scares me. I NEED to learn how to take care of myself so I can be better at teaching (and leading by example) for my family.

But, me first. Gotta put on MY oxygen mask first, right? And I know the only person I can change is ME. I just do hope that my changes affect my family in a positive way too.
