I think that if you have a coach for some different purpose, as you said, that person could "become" able to be a Beck coach. I don't think they need to already know about Beck, but it would help if they were willing to learn about the kinds of mindsets in Beck and if they would have the right approach to helping. You will probably know if the person could be good for it just by the feeling you get from the person. Keep us posted!

Cardamamma, That is exactly what I did last time. For me, it didn't work so well. I felt like I was coaching, but not coached very much. I could try it with someone else. Glad to know it does work for some.
Judi, The idea of paying someone had not occurred to me, but that might work. I was seriously considering a certified running coach &/or personal trainer. Do you think it is essential that the person understand Beck or do you think a coach/trainer would serve?
I do also have my Weight Watcher leader who has known me for 24 years. She is helpful from time to time, although I only get personal attention if I ask for it and stick around for it.

Hi Slenderella, The way I found a coach was by offering to be a coach. My coach and I exchange emails each week: she coaches me, I coach her. It works great! Maybe you could also offer your help as a coach? I bet you'd be great with so much Beck experience under your belt. Good luck--I hope you connect with someone soon.

Sounds good.
I got my coach the old fashioned way - - - I hired her! (She is a life coach and helps me with other things too, like my business.)

Thanks, Judi. No takers yet. I've had a tremendous amount of help from this team and my other SparkFriends. Still, I would love to truly have my own coach. In the meantime, I'll post my progress here.

Still no takers, Marsha? (Was keeping my eye on this thread.)
Well, in the meantime, lots of team members use the team as a sort of coach. It's good to have you back.

Hi, I'm Marsha. After 50+ years of being overweight, I've done pretty well these last 3 years with help of SparkPeople, Weight Watchers, YMCA, Galloway running, and the Beck Diet Solution. I'm up about 10 pounds from where I was (but I think 4 pounds are water - and this is still 75+ pounds below my all time high) and want to get back down and stay there.
I did Beck a year ago and found it helpful. But I need the help of a Diet Coach. Just a weekly check in is probably all I require, but I'm open to more interaction. I just bought the workbook yesterday; I still have the hot pink book.
If you would coach me, please post here, SparkMail, or post on my page. Blessing to everyone this Easter and special blessing to anyone willing to assist me to become a person who THINKS like a thin person!!
