Hi. I'm Nancy; I've been on Sparkpeople for several months, and just started the Beck Workbook. I have the book ordered and will start reading it as soon as it comes. I'm on Day 12 in the workbook, and I love it! My husband is my coach, and he's doing a great job. He asks me how I'm doing every day and has lots of good advice and insights.

Hi, I'm getting back to the Spark after two or three previous long breaks. Fortunately during the last one - since late February - I've only regained two pounds, so some ideas and habits are sticking with me, I guess.
My diet plan is going to be calorie counting via SparkPeople (and eating an ovo-lacto vegetarian diet, which is my usual way of eating), with the backup diet plan being using SP's suggested meals for that eating plan.
For exercise, I am adding extra walking each day, and slowly getting myself into using EA Sports Active's More Workouts for the Wii.
I'm at the "diet coach" part of the plan now, so what better time to introduce myself? Also, I will be communicating closely with my husband about my plan and efforts. Maybe I'll be an inspiration for him!

HI, I'm Trish
I just starting reading the Beck diet solution.... I was just about ready to give up on dieting altogether. Just tired of the the cycle. I don't have alot to lose, but want to stick to a healthy eating plan and exercise routine. And if I can lose a few pounds in the process I would be really happy.
Hi, My name is Joyce, I am 53 and I am from Maryland. I found this team before I knew about the book. It piqued my interest, so I decided to buy the workbook. I am trying to get back on track in my life and just had a two hour meeting with a Health Coach that I get free from my insurance! This book fits right into what I am working towards. So does Sparkpeople and although I joined so long ago, I am planning to do a vision collage again.
I look forward to getting to know you all!

Hi! Just found this team on spark and I just ordered the book! I should get it on Saturday and will start reading it when I get it! I've heard about the Beck Diet Solution for a while, but finally decided it was time!
I live in Houston and I am 50 years old. I am a vegetarian but eat more "junk" than I would like. I am a stress eater and need to get past that!
Looking forward to getting involved in this team and offering and getting support!

Aloha! I live in Memphis, the Land of Elvis, although I'm a native Wisconsinite. I've been a Spark member for 18 months. I finally have come to the realization after losing weight and watching it come back that I need to change the way I think about what I'm doing. As a scientist, I've had lots of observation of this phenomena!
Like the other members of this team, I was looking for something to help me manage my diet. I've read about mindful eating and other distortions in thinking about food. I'm not in the eating disorder camp. My weight just creeps back up slowly, just as slowly as it went off.
I'm tired of living this way. I found the Beck Diet Solution and purchased my copy off amazon. It sat in. Y briefcase for a month before I cracked the pages.
Today, I'm on Day 8. I must tell the truth that I had skipped the Diet Coach day because I was embarrassed to ask anyone to do that for me. Then this morning while logging my breakfast, I realized that there likely was a team here for The Beck Diet Solution. And Voila! Here I am.
I'm looking forward to digging through this part of Spark People. I've actually been following my primary diet since Sunday. Granted I don't have to start that for another week but I figure the practice will help.
I'm 45. my step-daughter is now 23(we raised her). My husband is retired Navy and is working a civilian job to stay in the manner to which he has become accustomed. I am a flavor chemist and work for a large food company. I make a lot of stuff that tastes bad on the way to making a tasty flavor!
We have a cat (a pretty little 14 year old tabby) and a wonderful scruffy Jack Russel Terror (terror for sure) named TJ. Thats short for Turbo Jack.
Thanks for letting me join this team!

My name is Janet and I live at the Jersey Shore. I'm a mom of an almost 1st grader & almost kindergartener. I work about 30 hours week as an IT analyst/developer/project mgr.
I purchased the Beck Diet Solution a few years ago, but never got too far into the book before I put it back on the book shelf. I vow to get back into it and complete it this time. I bought the workbook a couple weeks ago as well. I also own the book on CD! I do believe that getting through this book will be the key to getting myself in a place where I get back to my goal weight and stay there.
I am semi-vegetarian (for a little over a year -- no "red" meat products). It's been very eye-opening to see exactly how many products that seem like they should be vegetarian are not. My kids have been very good sports about it, considering that for them, it has meant no regular marshmallows and fewer "gummie" candy choices.
I am a WW lifetime member since 2007 and maintained for a couple of years w/o a problem. I'm now 5.5 pounds over goal. I joined SparkPeople a month ago (at 8 pounds over goal) because I want to do something different to shake it up, and I got tired of paying for WW eTools...
For activity, I enjoy yoga once/week, and running a few times a week. I am hoping to run a half marathon this fall.

Hi Keerthi! You found us!
Let me know if you have any questions about Beck. And come over to the Daily Check In thread to chat with everyone. (And once you get started on the book, you will find threads for each "day" of the Beck program, so you can go and read what people have written there and write your own reactions.
I am just on the verge of trying to turn myself around and get back to what I KNOW I need to do! Wish me luck! And same to you.
Sparkfully Yours, Judi

Hi All,
I was recommended this group by JUDI_CUTIE. I haven't actually read the books or the program but I am working through a CBT process for my recently diagnosed ADHD.
I am big into audio books and I am planning to down load this book for this weekend.
By the way, I have decided to lose 40 pounds by the end of the year (1.5 lbs/wk). I am going to use P90X work out and SparkPeople journaling to help me along.

Hi, only just found out about the existence of this team from another spark friend. I am a great fan of CBT and the Beck Diet Solution book was brought to my attention by a behavioural psychologist I had one session with at the start of my journey back in March/April. I am going slowly through the book as the tasks take me long to implement and really absorb but I love it! My June goals and anti-craving techniques list which I blogged about are all based on Dr Beck's suggestions.
I hope I can find a lot of support and like-minded people in this team and I ready to help as best I can. Looking forward to getting to know you all :)

Hi, my initials are EST, and I am happy to join the Beck Diet Solution team. In keeping with Dr. Beck's goals, I want to lose just five pounds. That sounds like a goal I could actually meet. Dr. Beck is a godsend in my life. I need to find a new diet coach friend. And I need to begin reading the workbook daily.

Hi all,
I'm new to Beck as well as new to posting (as opposed to lurking) on Spark. I started reading through the book yesterday, and plan to start day one today. On diets in the past, I've had a hard time staying motivated. I'm now sure about finding a diet coach, but I'm hoping this group will help there!
