I mainly used one diet the whole time. But I did pick a second one just to "do what I was told" for a change!
My first one was based on tracking food and keeping within certain ranges of calories, fat, carb, protein. Similar to what Spark says, but I changed my ranges from what they said.
My second one was just a stricter version, keeping at the bottom of my range and eating in an even more structured way. (I think at the beginning, I was doing something like lean cuisine on the really low days.) I used that every once in a while to kick start things. (I have not done it in a while.)

Judi I will use your tracker as proof positive I need to start making my cards tonight! I bought some index cards to start this book! I have my diet picked out... I know she says to pick 2 (I read some of the book but didn't act on it before). I just happen to KNOW what diet I'm going with and trust.
Also, I think it's about time I admit I need a diet buddy. My husband is dieting and working out and doing very well...but we don't compliment each other well in this department. It's not our relationship...it's his coaching style vs mine I think he's crash dieting...and he doesn't want to hear it.
Maybe I don't need a "buddy." Maybe I need a team with my same goals.
I think this may be one of my teams. I want to change my HEAD too. I don't want to struggle so hard with this all my life.

I'm a die-hard Jillian Michaels fan, and her diet plan is what I follow. I'm not afraid of the word diet, because if you eat in anyway other then with reckless abandon, I believe you're on some kind of diet. It's not a bad word to me.
