So glad u joined our Team. I love Judy Beck, PhD and what she has done to help me learn to THINK LIKE A THIN PERSON!! Don't quit. That is all that matters.
HI, I started reading it a few weeks ago and I think it's excellent. I've always known that what keeps me from losing is all inside my head. I know exactly what to eat and how to lose weight - that's not the issue.
So far, I have my little index card and I like to read it in my car - usually about twice a day. On it, I have:
-reasons I want to lose weight
-Eat sitting down
- I am worth the time and energy it takes to lose weight
-eat mindfully and slowly.
- I've been reading ahead in the book but have mostly been focussing on these ones so far.
- For rewards, I got a jar and a box of paper clips and put paper clips in it for: exercise, staying within my range, resisting junk food, and saying No.
- It's slow so far, about a month and a loss of: 1.4lbs. But finally after a long time, I am seeing the scale move.
How about you guys, how are you finding the book? Any great tips so far? What's working for you?

I,too, am just getting started with the plan. I really think if I follow it, I will lose the weight.
and I am intrigued. I've already started both my Resource cards and my Advantage deck but have them both together. I got the idea from JC, which will help me read both at the same time, thus not forgetting to do it. My husband finally found some graph paper.. we had to go to a office supply store to find some. Can you believe that none of the dollar stores or even Walmart had it....Weird. It used to be considered a staple need in high school..
My name is Joan aka joleeva and I am 66 years old and have ...well, let's just say that I have not seen 200 lbs in so long, I can't remember when I did weigh that. I have already lost about 51 lbs, 29 before I joined SP and 22 since then. I had lost about 25 but put back 3 lbs this week.
