My resistance muscle has gotten a little weak! It has been over two years since I first made it through the original Beck "days" and I keep on trying to talk myself into getting more serious again.
I'm supposed to be "some kind of leader" here, and there are days that I feel like a fraud! Yet, I am still tracking my food every day. Today I went and swam laps. So I am not completely off track! But I like hearing from new team members who remind me of how really SIMPLE the Beck ideas are!
I have to get my book back out, my cards, my things to say to myself ...

Hi teammates - glad to join you. I am actually through the Beck steps (as of mid-September) and am continuing on my way, using the skills I learned through the program as I go. The hardest thing for me is remembering to use my Anti-Craving techniques in the moment when I feel the craving; often I just resort to distraction without even consciously thinking about my techniques, and luckily most times I can resist (due to that extra-strengthened resistance muscle), but afterward I feel bad that I didn't actively use the techniques. Those (luckily) few times I give in, I am much better at stopping before it gets out of hand. I continue to read my ARC and other cards once daily (great thing to do while sitting in car pickup line at my daughter's preschool!) I am heartened by how much similarity I find between the Beck system and the articles on SparkPeople, so that just goes to show great minds think alike! Looking forward to meeting more of you as time passes, and good luck everyone!
