Hi everybody, My name is Barbara. I've been on Sparkpeople for a while.
I bought the Beck book a while ago figuring I would dedicate myself to following it in June when school gets out (I'm a teacher). Well, here we are. I've already lost 27 pounds with Spark and miscellaneous attempts at lifestyle changes. It's been slow, but I'm happy with that. I think most of the changes I've made have sunk in and I haven't regained any weight. After years of yo-yo dieting, I realize that the major priority is to change my mindset.
The Beck solution seems to be in keeping with my plan. Change your mindset first and the rest will follow. Wish me luck. I'd like to lose another 10 pounds this summer.
I just bought the book and workbook and I am interested in getting started with this program. I have been on my weight loss journey for several years, just recently surpassed my goal weight and now need to maintain.
However, I have some terrible eating habits and know that I could have some serious issues if I do not strengthen my resistence muscles. I am looking for to changing the way I think about food and why I think I need to eat what and when I do.
