I'm new to Beck also! I just bought the book and the workbook last night. I "heard" someone talking about it on my MaryMackers team and thought it sound like the kind of help I need...

Yes, a big welcome! I found that Beck was finally something that could get through to me! I used to have all kinds of "schemes" for losing weight, and I liked to make up my own rules. When I started using the Beck approach, I found that I was able to commit to trying some things that were not totally comfortable for me. I still like making up some of my own rules, but I have really changed. I understand what works and what does not work, and I know what to do whenever I am ready. (For example, I was "not" ready to be too careful during the recent holiday, and very soon (maybe even right now) I need to get back on track and do what I need to do. I have confidence that this will happen! And it really works!
Well, that was long-winded! I think I just needed to remind MYSELF of some things!

I bought my Beck Diet Solution book a couple months back, but ended up not following the exercises or committing to even starting the book really. I decided to finally start the book after struggling with keeping on my diet. I would like to learn how to control my emotional eating and I also need to work on getting in the right mind set to lose weight so for now I am going to take it one day at a time and start Day 1 today. I look forward to getting to know everyone here along my journey.
