Hi everyone, I'm also new to the team. Started reading the Beck solution a couple of weeks ago and have been able to relate to pretty much everything she's written. I've been struggling with weight/food issues since high school.
It's truly unfortunate that so many American women lack what would be regarded as "normal" relationships with food and body image, and that most of us are constantly either dieting or "off" the diet...I find myself wondering if eating according to genuine hunger signals and learning to stop at an appropriate time is even a possibility anymore, given the overwhelming availability of (mostly unhealthy) food and ingrained attitudes of "good" vs "bad". Hopefully the cognitive therapy approach will work, at least a little bit, in rewiring our brains about dieting and hunger.
Also looking for an online diet coach...anyone looking for some mutual support? :)
