Hi everyone...
New to the team, but I have been on Spark People for almost a month now. I like the site, I like the support and I can't say enough good things about SP.
Star Trek is something of a new discovery for me. Normally SciFi is a bit off my radar, no pun intended...I'm really much more of a Clint Eastwood guy, but I saw the new film on a whim, and it sparked my curiosity in these characters that we've really all known for so long. I don't consider myself a Trekkie (of Trekker, whichever you prefer), I consider myself merely a casual viewer, but I enjoy the original series immensely, and have been currently watching the original cast movies for the first time. Interesting characters, interesting stories, but I enjoy the running social commentaries and these sort of universal messages in the stories the most.
I saw Wrath of Khan last night for the first time and loved it. I'll have to watch it again, but I think it was not just a great Star Trek film, but one of the all-time great SciFi movies. I've always loved The Empire Strikes Back (I know, I know...don't start THIS arguement, right?), but I think I liked Star Trek 2: WOK just a little bit better...
Anyhow, glad to be here.
Jared
