Tue, 18 Mar 2008 23:47:27 EST Tips for Maximizing Protein Intake Hey ladies, I got this from Oxygen magazine. I thought it would be helpful since alot of us have a hard time meeting our protein ranges. I thought this was interesting. Here it goes:

Tips for maximizing protein intake

• Protein can be dehydrating, so don’t skimp on water. Strive for at least two liters a day, more if you are training.

• Carbohydrates are the number one fuel to help you power through your workouts. Yes, I said it, "5 MILES" I can't run one unless it's jump roping...LOL!! But we are going to do this together. Sat, 15 Mar 2008 13:20:53 EST My Breast are a Mess!!! Ladies don't get me wrong, I am not complaining!! I'm very happy with my accomplishments but I have absolutely no boobs!!! My mom and my daughter was teasing me today about it and I laughed it off but I also have noticed how flat my chest is. My B cups are now too big!!! I am a little disturbed by it but not to the point where I would get any enhancements but it does limit me when I want to wear certain shirts. Is anyone else having the disappearing breast thing too ? Thu, 13 Mar 2008 23:04:52 EST Shoes Has anyone found a pair of shoes they like to workout in? Thu, 13 Mar 2008 16:47:57 EST Any suggestions on how to increase intensity Hello my fellow team members. I seem to be having a slight problem. I've been doing the elliptical machine at the gym for over a couple of weeks now. I always do the interval training program. This program stays on 1 for 2 min, then it goes to 8 for 2 min. It does this for 45 minutes. After that I usually try to get in some weight training. (Mostly anything for my back because I hate the way it looks- you know, the roles and all). My diet is prettygood. I stay away from fast food plac... Thu, 13 Mar 2008 11:27:17 EST Healthy Snacks What do you guys eat for healthy/filling snacks? Thu, 13 Mar 2008 00:02:29 EST Fat Loss Muscle Gain Yesterday I posted that I had lost 2 lbs. Well, today I did something that I should not have done today. Yes, I weighed myself again. To my surprise the scale showed that I was up 2.8 lbs. I don't know but I sure am hoping that that's muscle weight. In any case I truly see how some people get upset when the scale bounces back in the wrong direction. I almost lost my MOJO but I remember one of my spark friends stating that you have to be more stubborn than the scale so I went to the gym.... Tue, 4 Mar 2008 17:28:56 EST Hi I all, I fell away from Spark in the last few months and gained tooooooo much weight due to bad eating habits and not exercising. I found these tips in Shape Magazine:

*Trying to cut back on afternoon nibbles? Here's something new to chew on: When people had a piece of gum after lunch, they felt fuller and experienced fewer cravings than when they didn't, finds a study from Glasgow Caledonian University in Scotland. Well I've been slacking off on working out lately, but I'm getting back into it. I'm trying to slim down, tone up, and just generally get in good enough shape to feel good in a bikini. My question is I'm hearing a lot of different things as far as weight training goes. I'm going to up my cardio and try to get about an hour 5X/wk. I tend to bulk up easily so I think lifting heavy on my upper body would be bad...should I use some heavier weights for my glutes (trying to lift and tone more)... Tue, 29 Jan 2008 14:10:37 EST increase intensity not time! I noticed that when we hit a plateau, alot of us will simply increase the amount of minutes we exercise but you don't have to do that. You will burn just as many calories if you just increase your intensity instead of your time. Many of us don't like to spend hours working out or being at the gym for over an hour. When on the treadmill for thirty minutes, to break your plateau, put that bad boy on a 7 to 10 incline for thirty minutes. The same applies to the elliptical machines, increase your... Mon, 28 Jan 2008 22:08:39 EST Weight Loss Rewards Today I've been thinking of non-food rewards to treat myself with when I reach mini milestones in my weight loss plan. For instance, a manicure @ 18 lb. lost, pedicure @ 30 lbs. lost, a 1 hour massage @40 lbs. lost, etc. What are you doing to treat yourself while losing weight? Sun, 27 Jan 2008 17:56:13 EST What exactly is your weight loss plan? People ask me all the time what am I doing as far as my eating is concerned to lose the pounds. As far as my eating is concerned, I don't eat anything fried, only baked, grilled, broiled or boiled, I don't add salt to my food and I only season with Ms. Dash and Mortin's lite salt, I only drink water with the exception of some hot lemon water with three splendas to get rid of water retention, I eat two 100 calorie snacks per day, I'm not a breakfast person for real so it's always a power bar o... I know I'm behind because it was on Oprah like a million years ago, but I only get the reruns here. Anyway, it's really helping me with my weightloss and my life! If you don't have the time to read it, then pick up the DVD. Sun, 27 May 2007 20:21:43 EST New to the Group I know that the challenge is already going on but can I just join in and try to lose as much as possible by July 1st? I am sure it won't be 25 lbs but maybe 10 or 15. Fri, 25 May 2007 16:02:51 EST Flabbies Okay, now, this is personally for me, for me to ask you all about firming lotion.

So, I know especially from having kids, that when you're done having them, they leave you a nice present of flabbies. Usually it was once your stomach. And as it deflates, you're left with the flab of justice. I've had that twice now. Now, I have had the MAJOR grace of God to help me stay somewhat firm in other areas of my body, like arms and legs and such, so I'm not sure how it works with these a... Thu, 24 May 2007 16:42:10 EST Period Panic !!!!! I hate the first three to four days before my cycle because I want to eat everything in sight. I usually can fight it off but this month I couldn't do it. For the past two days, I have been going over my calorie ranges. I ate cookies!!! I couldn't fight it off. Today I literally had to fight with myself to not cheat!! I have decided that today is not going to be like yesterday or the day before. Does any one else on the team have this problem ? Help me, I need advice!!! Thu, 24 May 2007 14:33:03 EST New to this group!! Hi everyone,

I was looking around the sparkteams, and seen this one! I need something to kick my butt back into my new healthy lifestyle! Don't get me wrong, I'm not stopping, I just hit a plateau and want to get the weight moving again! I have been stuck on 345 pounds for about 4 weeks! And as of Monday the 21st, I finally lost 2.8 pounds! So, with these new found low numbers I really need to get out of the same old same old!
So as long as no one minds, I would love to... Tue, 22 May 2007 16:35:07 EST Has your weightloss effected your attitude? It seems like since I've lost only 28 pounds, I'm way more confident! I challenge myself in everything I do. Why is it that we tend to settle when we are fat but when we lose, boy does another person come out (LOL)!!! Sun, 20 May 2007 08:18:19 EST Idea for June Challenge! We're all doing well with the exercising, how about an eating challenge? Like, no breads or pastas after 12 noon each day. To help prevent nighttime munchies on chips or crackers? That way we'll only be able to snack on veggies or fruit?
Just an idea, but please let me know!! 4 Thu, 17 May 2007 19:51:59 EST Skinny on Jump Ropes Hi Y'all:

We started talking in depth about jump ropes on another thread on another subject and I could never remember where it was.

I just looked on Target's website and found that they even have ropes that track your calories burned, your number of jumps and displays the info in an LCD.

I'm tempted to buy that one or another with a music and verbal instructional CD. It doesn't have the stuff that the "health" rope above has.

Thanks to PENROSE... Mon, 7 May 2007 15:07:35 EST Gatlinburg Ladies, I fell off. 39

I was doing so well and felt so proud of myself until May 4th. My 26th birthday was May 5th and my boyfriend wanted to take me to Gatlinburg, TN. While I was there. I did absolutely no exercise. But I did eat. We ate at the Hard Rock Cafe and they have huge burgers and I ate about 90% of it. I was full long before but just kept eating. 198 Of course, there were fries as well. We also had pizza while we were there, funnel cakes, pancakes,... Mon, 7 May 2007 14:39:55 EST Do you look in the mirror alot? Since I've started losing weight, it seems as if I can't pass a mirror without evaluating myself. I mean I'm pleased that I can see my results because at one time I avoided mirrors! Does anyone else on the team find themselves doing this all the time too? Mon, 7 May 2007 10:45:48 EST Injury! Ok...

I guess all this weight loss has gone to my head because I went bungee jumping a couple of weeks ago. It was great! I will NEVER do that again though! Anyhow, I ended up with really sore abs for the last few weeks. Today I was finally able to get back to my crunshes. I was just wondering if anybody else has experienced any injuries along this road to weight loss...
Mon, 7 May 2007 10:18:05 EST I love my one a day weight smarts!!! Guys I don't know if all of you are taking multivitamins or not but I must say that One a Day Weight smarts are great!! They give me lots of energy and my doctor told me to take those along with a Vitamin C 500 mg tablet per day. He said that it will help increase my metabolism and my weight loss. Since I started them my weight loss has picked up. Are any of you taking vitamins? Some people say it increases their appetite but I haven't had that problem. Sun, 6 May 2007 14:57:47 EST i went to boot camp well, I made it to boot camp this morning. Of course , I am the biggest girl at the boot camp. I almost fainted. I had 46.3% body fat. I have a long way t go but I'm motivated. He only worked us out for an 30 minutes. It was okay. I could keep up with the dips and push ups but i hate running. But I did it. Yes! this is my start. Sat, 5 May 2007 13:36:59 EST Spark Points I know that the whole point of the Spark points is to really reinforce the idea that weight loss is an ongoing journey. You have to chip away at your weight little by little and it all adds up in the end. BUT... I'm sick of spinning that wheel and getting only one point for logging in! Does anyone EVER get the 10 or 25 points?! I don't know why I am so crank about this, but I just needed to vent for a sec... Thu, 3 May 2007 07:57:59 EST I'm new Hi,

I am new to the team.
