I am very new to pole dancing. I have only taken 2 classes so far. Both times the next day, I was feeling sore (which feels great). I feel like I will not progress very far if I am only focusing on pole dancing, strength wise, during the class period. What are some ways that I can imporve my strength outside of class, so that I can progress farther during class? What exercises can I do? Has anyone done P90X as a way of preparing for dance class. Wed, 29 Dec 2010 16:38:27 EST Unlimited Pole Pass I am really struggling to decide what to do. One of the two studios I attend is offering a special on their unlimited pack. Basically their normal unlimited pass is $199. Right now (through tomorrow) they are running a special where it is $99 per month with a 6 month minimum commitment. I am thinking about doing it but it isn't my primary studio. The big pro is that they are closer to my home than my primary studio. The big con is that I don't think all of their classes are as good. Sun, 7 Nov 2010 17:05:31 EST Hello fellow polers! :) Hello! I joined SP to improve my overall health. I've tried various forms of exercise but never stuck with anything until I found pole. I am self taught and my pole anniversary was Oct 15th, so I've been a pole dancer just over a year. I am so addicted to it!

I've done really well keeping up with my routines, but in the fall/winter I tend to not want to do as much, so I hoped joining this team will help keep me motivated! I got a Bodymedia Fit (like a Bodybugg, calorie expenditure measuring gadget), and I've been keeping track of how much I burn in my pole classes. Fri, 8 Oct 2010 17:33:24 EST I want my own pole for home Hi there,

I'm toying around with the idea of getting a pole for at home. I wanted to know how many of you have poles at home and what brand they are. The studio that I go to has brass poles and I really like them. The problem that I'm finding is that all the poles online have a "spinning" section to their poles and come in 2-3 pieces. Just wanted to hear some input thanks! Thu, 7 Oct 2010 13:01:32 EST Hey hey SO...I'm not new to pole dancing or Sparkpeople. I actually started pole classes two years ago when I was at university and I loved it. Great to meet you all.

PS I want a pole dancing emote Wed, 6 Oct 2010 11:33:15 EST Slight movement in pole I have an x-pert x-pole and I know I need to tighten something, but not sure what. I am having trouble with my pole at home - it's so slippery, I can barely stay on at all! I am going to get some Mighty Grip gloves for my hands (even hairspray hasn't been doing the trick), but what about legs? Tue, 7 Oct 2008 08:49:57 EST casual pole encounter I would like to know the name of this move (when you lean back from sitting on pole to where you are hanging upside down facing away from the pole) as i think we shared a special moment last night. I was so gracefully (haha) attempting to do this move and being the brave soul I am let go of the pole with my hands just in time to question if the pole should be this close to my crotch. It was over before I could even introduce myself. I laid there on the floor with tingling lady parts. Just ... Thu, 14 Aug 2008 08:32:40 EST HEllO!! Sat, 19 Jan 2008 21:18:56 EST Challenge from hubby OK, so the default pic for this Sparkteam (the blond doing the splits on the pole) is something Hubby doesn't thinks I'll "NEVER be able to do". By the way, Hubby is 6'1" and may be 145 lbs...ugh! So, I'm working on doing the splits now. By the time I get that down, I figure I'll have the upper body strength to pull it off.
