SparkPeople Busy Bees in College Team Messageboard This team is for those college students that find it hard to fit in healthy habits. SparkPeople Busy Bees in College Team Messageboard Winter Time! I walked all the way across campus to get to the gym even though it was 20 degrees out! Even though I only did 20 minutes on the elliptical I figured it was a good walk there and I'm proud for not letting the weather keep me down.

Do you all make the trek through cold weather or just do little workouts in your room? Wed, 23 Jan 2013 21:07:35 EST Back at School! Well, school is starting up for me again and I thought this group would be a good place to start! I constantly find it difficult to get myself to the gym with everything going on. And not to mention, my gym is a 20 minute walk away and it's winter time :( Wed, 23 Jan 2013 08:52:11 EST Looking to become a part of the community I joined Sparkpeople a couple months back, and was impressed at how much it had to offer. My boyfriend and I were trying to get into better shape. I am 19, 5'9 and 135-139 pounds (depending on the day) and have a hard time staying consistent with working out. I would like to get down to 132 or 128. It is such a close goal, but I can never seem to attain it.

I guess I just want to get more involved in the community and teams, so that I can build up a support system and get some moti... My name is Katie - I'm wrapping up a graduate degree this semester, and finally finding the personal motivation to lose the extra weight I've been carrying my whole life.

I'm an amputee and a childhood cancer survivor,... Thu, 12 Apr 2012 02:15:50 EST Need some advise Hello spark users,
This is jane, I lost 12 lb. in last two months by just limiting calories.
Now I have started cardio exercise 60 min twice week and also reduced calorie intake from 1200 to 1000, still not losing any weight. It's been 3 wks and no change in weight, though I'm eating only healthy food.
Is something missing? I'm still 20 lb. overweight.
Please give me some advise.
Thanks.
Fri, 2 Mar 2012 14:29:27 EST Snacking when studying Hi!

I find that my biggest problem is eating while studying, or taking a break from studying in order to eat. The problem is, that every time I want to procrastinate, I eat something. Not only would it be healthier, I'd probably get more done if I didn't snack all the time.

Any tips or ideas what to do instead?
Is there anyone who has a healthy studying-style? :) Fri, 10 Feb 2012 09:27:25 EST Create an informative linkedin page Did you know that posting projects on your linkedin can get you noticed by recruiters and employers? It also prevents you from being screened out from positions because it maps your experience, interests, makes you stand out, and causes you to show up in employer and recruiter web searches. Don't take such actions for granted I find in interviews employers are often misinformed about how related college experience can be to engineering projects conducting on the job. Mon, 7 Nov 2011 11:32:26 EST Dining Hall Foods Hey everyone!
So I am not sure how everyone else feels about this, but I feel that it is very difficult to make healthy choices in the dining hall (especially since I am a vegetarian, and sometimes the only thing I can find to eat is salad and cheese pizza!).
Anyway, the point of this is: We are all in a similar boat, right? We have a plethora of unhealthy food at our disposal when we enter the cafeteria or go through our microwavable foods that we all thrive on.
Would anyone... I'm in London until tomorrow (that's why I've been kind of absent lately) and I have to say... well, it's not easy. I spend all day walking around this beautiful city, but that makes me hungry, and there're so many yummy things around... and those 50 million types of cadbury chocolate... and the creme eggs... so, this week I believe I've gained a ton of weight, because on top of all that when the night comes it's time to go to the pub and have some beers...
I'm going to ... Wed, 14 Mar 2007 06:51:28 EST Dorm Room Diet HELLO beautiful busy bees! Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend.

I got a new book today called The Dorm Room Diet. It's by Dr. Oz's daughter and I really like it. It has a lot of the same lifestyle change tips that Spark has, but sometimes it's nice to have it in book form, you know? I've read a bunch of it, but I'll let you all know if I recommend it or what.

Has anyone else seen it, read it, or heard about it? Sun, 11 Mar 2007 21:33:21 EST Midterms Do any of you guys have them this week or next? I have one today (WISH ME LUCK) and 2 next Wednesday...and then spring break!

Midterms REALLY stress me out and I don't always find good things to eat...especially when ordering while studying late. But I'm trying.

Anyone going through the same stuff? Good luck if you are! THEN I find out that I overdrew my bank account by $4.50. I have no money and I was supposed to go out tomorrow night to a club but that's $10 and then I was supposed to go to a party on Friday night but thats gonna be $5 plus my gas money...I don't know what I'm going to do...I don't ge... This made me eat all day yesterday (didn't track) so the 3lbs that appeared overnight are staying... :( I worked so hard to get to 132 and now this... And the worst part is that I'm not motivated enough to say "let's work extra hard this week so they'll go away". No, all I'm doing is eating and eating. Great. And I slept 6 hours...

Sorry, I needed to vent someho... Tue, 6 Mar 2007 02:20:12 EST Monday, 5th March Well, it's already Monday here. What are you up to today?
I have to go to the bank to change some Euros into Sterling Pounds for London, then I'm meeting a friend at 2pm and then I'll head home to prepare the conference I have on tuesday.
My parents are leaving for the week, so it's just me and my brother, we'll see how that goes.
Also, is weigh in day, I'm not sure if I'll do it. I know it's higher (because my last weigh in was one of those days when you know it's unrealistic... Sun, 4 Mar 2007 18:21:18 EST What are you studying and why? I'm majoring in Translation and Interpreting because I love languages and movies, and I really like the idea of translating a script so it can be dubbed into Spanish (so far I've translated several National Geographic documentaries, we'll see if the movies or series come)and because I think interpreting is fascinating. The moment I put the earphones on and the conference begins... it's like my whole body, energy, mind, soul is focused on being the missing link between the person giving the sp...
