I did this by running and jogging part of my walk. That got my rate up quite well. My reward is that it felt really good. Hopefully I'll be able to run the complete 5k by then. Sun, 29 Jul 2012 22:01:06 EST How many calories do you burn working on a car? I have been working on my car all day trying to get a new starter installed. Sun, 1 Jul 2012 14:56:19 EST Challenge to Lose Before 2013 My wife and I have decided on a certain amount to lose before 1/1/13 and we are putting aside a certain amount weekly that will go towards that. There is now a savings account set up for it. We will save on eating out less, packing snacks in a small cooler for running errands, refilling water bottles at the gym, going to the gym for a movie (they have a theater with treadmills), cutting back on meats and many others areas.

Set a Goal and put back a little every week. Tue, 19 Jun 2012 12:52:44 EST THE NO-EXCUSE CALENDAR I read about this, did some cyber research and found it.
Its a workout/food journal calendar, however, all the days are MONDAY. Tue, 8 Nov 2011 22:04:24 EST Progress not Perfection As I come to the end of my first week on this journey, I find myself gaining some cool insight into myself that I am hopeful will help me make bigger and more permanent changes to myself. I hadn't realized how "all or nothing" my thinking has been when it comes to diet and exercise. I've started to see how sometimes my life makes it very difficult to get to the gym and get the "ideal" workout in, and I would use that as an excuse to not go. Today my wife got called in to work 6 hours early, ... Fri, 28 Oct 2011 16:01:00 EST Day 1! Gentlemen, I was very happy to see there is a men's section here! I joined up late Saturday night, and spent some time yesterday getting acquainted with the site. I've become your classic yo-yo dieter/exerciser, and I'm now the biggest I've ever been. I'm not too concerned about the scale because, let's be honest, if you're fit and lean, you really don't care if what your weight is. I'm really concerned with the robust gut I've developed! I want to lose 10" from my waist. I know it took... Mon, 24 Oct 2011 12:20:04 EST Summer into Fall. Are YOU changing? Summer is gone and we are well into Fall. Mon, 30 Jun 2008 12:39:01 EST Oy! So I find myself stuck in a sticky motivational rut.

My fiancée and I are nominally working on our diet and fitness together... but she works two jobs and rarely has time to think about what she eats, nevermind get to the gym. She told me the other day she only goes for me; her own motivation is gone. Sun, 17 Feb 2008 12:45:43 EST Weekend Challenge Let's post here for the weekend challenge. I will update this with the rules later when we get them figured out.

I was thinking of a food related challenge, and then maybe make it part of the 30 second challenge? Thoughts? I think that a lot of us have trouble sticking with the diet (food) during the weekend. If we can do a challenge to make sure we eat balanced i think it would be helpful. Not really sure how it should be set up though Mon, 11 Feb 2008 19:43:33 EST sdickison Hey guys just wanted to say hello. I realized when my 8 year old reached 107 lbs that maybe I was the bad influence. So I'm making some changes in our lives. Looking forward to doing this right this time.
Steve Mon, 4 Feb 2008 17:12:40 EST Back I'm finally back after my shoulder surgery.
