(vegetarian, vegan, Diabetes, heart, stroke) SparkPeople Whole Foods for Health Team Messageboard Single Serving Salad Dressing Recipes? Primarily, I eat a whole-foods diet, beyond the obvious health reasons, due to food allergies. Hard to buy "pre-packaged" when you are allergic to most of the ingredients in most of the "foods" (not to me!) This is pretty easy and healthy except for one thing: salad dressing. I generally eat my salad with fresh lemon juice squeezed over the top of it, or something like that because when you are eating for one person, making home-made from scratch salad dressings, avoiding all nightshades... Thu, 26 Oct 2017 18:18:32 EST The Whole Shebang! Greetings to all! My name is Auna, and I live in Portland, Oregon. I'm a vegetarian, and I am working on transforming my diet to include more whole foods, one meal at a time. I've got breakfast done, and I'm trying to eat the same healthy breakfast each day, building up that routine. The next step is working over my lunch, and I think I'm going to be including some lentils for a high-protein meal. I really love lentils! Well, it's nice to meet you! Stay safe! Wed, 5 Jul 2017 00:10:01 EST Hello! I'm new to the Whole Foods for Health team I'd like to introduce myself. I'm new to this team and look forward to exchanging information about whole foods and a healthy lifestyle. I've been a vegetarian for a little over three years and I've lost about 40 lbs during that time. I have 73 lbs left to go. I've been on SparkPeople for a couple of months and I'm still finding my way around the website. There is so much here! I joined SparkCoach and have really gotten a lot out of it. It gives me structure. Glad to be here!
Thu, 1 Jun 2017 15:59:20 EST new here Hi There!
I am new to this group and look forward to learning a lot as well as eating healthier all the time Sun, 7 May 2017 10:14:25 EST Hi, I'm Amanda! I have been a lifetime vegetarian, but my Naturopath wanted me to go vegan for healing and I am struggling to get the protein in without raising the calories and carbs through the roof. I have been at goal weight for almost seven years -coming up this November and hang out here because I have made some great friends and their journeys are still ongoing. One of my friends with RA healed herself with a low carb diet. I eat everything organic and was into raw food for a while until I discover... Tue, 16 Aug 2016 08:54:04 EST Any Instant Pot (aka iPot) Users Out There? I recently became the ecstatic owner of a brand new Instant Pot, thanks to the steep markdown of them on Amazon Prime Day. I have already checked out Pinterest and YouTube for some vegan Instant Pot recipes, and have given potatoes and dry beans a dry run in them, to much success.

I was wondering if others have tried it ot, and if you have, what your favorite recipe was? Fri, 22 Jul 2016 00:28:17 EST Anyone active on this team now? If you are currently active or trying to be active on this team, would you respond to this thread so I could find a few like minded folks to share ideas with? I find a lot of teams with interesting names, then I join them, only to find out they aren't active.

If we could just get a small core group of like 10 people posting regularly and helping each other, I think that would be great.

I hope to hear from some of you!!! I am reading Joanna Blythman's "Swallow This" which is a real eye opener about the food industry. I've ordered another of her book's called "What to Eat" and have read the intro on the Amazon "look inside" feature. I'm realising I need a total overhaul of what I thought was a reasonably healthy diet. I am going to tackle this one step at a time! Tue, 17 Mar 2015 10:36:33 EST Help with bread!! Started the year great. I am keeping with a primarily plant based whole foods diet, In the market, I stick to the produce section mostly, adding canned or frozen veg that is not in season, and going to the dairy section for almond milk. I stay away from anything processed as much as possible. My biggest problem is that of all things, I miss the convenience of store bought bread. I have read every label in my local market, and haven't found a brand that I would consider truly whole grain. ... Sun, 25 Jan 2015 12:43:05 EST infused water Hi all. I'm new here and need some help. I am but I have modified it so I eat less protien and have the occasional pulses, beans and fresh fruit - I found it too lacking in vitamins without fruit and didnt like to rely on artificial sweeteners for my desserts. Has anyone else tried it? Can you comment? Thankyou. X LuCy. Thought this would be the team to join for inspiration Mon, 8 Oct 2012 18:15:30 EST Surprised at weightloss Hi Everyone!

Just started tracking my calories and exercise on October 1st. I know I shouldn't be surprised since the last time I committed to a plant based, whole foods diet I lost 20 lbs in 2 months and kept it off. I recently got organized again and have been cooking all my meals from scratch with no added oil. I love to eat and I don't feel hungry. In just 9 days I've lost 5 lbs. I'm guessing some of that may be water since I only add salt at the table and not while cooking... Sun, 7 Oct 2012 15:47:49 EST Diabetic Nutritional Cooking and Whole Foods I embraced the concepts of more natural foods when my husband became a diabetic. I've been a lacto-ovo vegetarian/pescetarian off and on for the last 6 or 7 years.
