I have not smoked since June 20,2011. I didn't think I could do it after 30 years of smoking. I tried but the only way I could do it was cold turkey. Now on with my weight loss journey. Tue, 7 Aug 2012 17:54:23 EST E-CIGARETTES Well, I tried the Chantix for the 3rd time. This time I got a clot in my leg. That was taken care of and now I'm trying the new electronic cigarette. So far I like it. Although it gives you the nicotine, it has no other harmful ingredients in it. The nicotine level is 14 which is what the 2nd step patch delivers. Three weeks now and I don't miss real cigarettes. Seems to be working. I just don't know how to quit and neve... Sun, 6 Jul 2008 17:14:42 EST I'm back... and quitting... for the wrong reason Hi, I'm Moss and I used to be a member of this Community. I spent too much time before talking about my cigar smoking being non-addictive, after quitting my pipe which was grabbing me by the tongue and choking me.

I still continue to believe that my cigar smoking is somewhere between a "pleasure" and a "habit" but not an "addiction"... however, with all the debt I'm still in, I can no longer justify the expense, so I'm quitting anyhow. I am trying to quit as it is been suggested that I do
It is hard since my hubby smokes Thu, 11 Jan 2007 17:52:27 EST How Scary is this So last night I found a pack of my husbands cigarettes in my 16 year olds room, some smoked. When I asked him, he didn't know, but I do, he did it because he's seen me do it for 30 years.

My quit date is set for Tuesday January 16th. I remember last time I quit -cold turkey, when I was pregnant - a no brainer, you'd think this would also be a no-brainer....All I could think about then was my baby inside. I've tried to quit other times, but the evil nicotine monster kept getting ... Thu, 11 Jan 2007 15:46:35 EST I'm afraid to quit - last time I gained 20 lbs. Hi everyone, I'm new to this group and I'm getting ready to quit. I've been limiting myself to a few cigs a day... but I'm afraid to quit.

I had been 120 - 130 lbs. my whole life unitl I quit for the first time a year and a half ago. I was smoke free for 3 months and in that time gained 20 lbs. that brought me up to 150 lbs. The heaviest I've ever been.

I started to lose my self confidence, hated the way I looked in my clothes, in pictures, I felt like a faliure... and I... Mon, 8 Jan 2007 10:55:35 EST ugh I'm so glad this team was started. I am on day #5 and am going crazy. I went and got the patch yesterday and that has seemed to take a bit of the edge off. I'm going out to dinner tonight with some friends...who all smoke!!!! This is going to be a huge hurdle!! Wish me luck!

*Hailie* Sat, 6 Jan 2007 13:13:40 EST Today is my quit day. Hi everyone.
Today is my quit day. I'm too embarrassed to tell anyone else, because they've heard it all before and have been disappointed in me. I hate those looks you get when someone who knew you "quit" a few weeks later see you light up.
I'm also trying to lose weight. I'm told by family and friends.... those 2 things just can't be done at once. Pick one. Well, I don't want to pick one. The longer I smoke, the more years I take off my life, the higher risks I take. But, t... Tue, 2 Jan 2007 10:37:02 EST Feeling sad & angry b/c I can't smoke OK-- I'm having a bad day. I'm sad over my dogs. I'm crying & feeling quite unable to cope. However, I've already had my 1 for the day. So, where do you turn when you really need to smoke? This is what I've always done in the past. I did walk today but I couldn't do it at the usual intensity b/c I am too sore (from strength training mistake *stupid*). I will get past this but I'm just mad about not being able to have my false sense of comfort from my ex-friend... the cigarette.
<em... Wed, 13 Dec 2006 23:28:25 EST need to no whats the best way to weain of smoking and getting my husband of chewing tobacco????? Fri, 8 Dec 2006 03:42:42 EST Never a good time to quit???!!! I began the process of quitting smoking 3 days ago. I've been smoking since I was 18.. about a pack a day. I've quit 2x when I got pg & while I was nursing my babies. As soon as I could though, I would pick right back up to a pack a day again. I remember thinking before I had the kids, why should I quit? I mean it was just me & hubby...who cares? Dumb thought (hello! hubby cares, parents care, friend & family care!). Then after I had the kids I thought it was too stressful b/c they were... Sun, 3 Dec 2006 21:08:05 EST Hawaii just passed a new law........ 2
I'm more of the "working at it......" sort of... okay thinking of it is more like it.

Which is that you can't smoke in at least 20 feet from any public area, including bars, restaurants etc. Well being a smoker for.....yikes 20+ years, it's giving me a really good reason to stop, that and my 8 year old daughter that reads me the stats daily........It's funny cause I can until lunch without a cig and then I have 1 at lunch and another after work, I think because I... Sat, 18 Nov 2006 01:11:35 EST Two Years Tomorrow Tomorrow is my two year anniversary! I honestly don't remember what it feels like to need a cigarette. If I can quit, anyone can! Wed, 15 Nov 2006 20:06:53 EST new and soon to quit Hi everyone. Good for you for this huge lifestyle change, and good luck.

My quit date is december 1st. I am terrified. I have tried several times to quit, but I start back again because of really horrendous withdrawal symptoms; I have quit paxcil slowly, and the symptoms were the same. But, I did it for the meds, I can do it for the cigarettes. They control my life, and I am sick of it. I do not want my very limited me time to be unhealthy( I am a single mother of two and a full-ti... Fri, 10 Nov 2006 12:52:05 EST The Book - The Easty Way to Stop Smoking Has anyone read this book to stop smoking, started reading last evening - kinda of an oxymoron and funny in how we all have been brainwashed - the author was a 100 cigarette a day smoker.

Hey we have all been brainwashed in the commercialization of how nicotine cannot damage your body.

Thanks Wed, 8 Nov 2006 21:47:45 EST Oops Ya'll, I'm such a goober. Yesterday I wrote that I just had my 30 day anniversary. Actually it's 90+, three months. About a month ago I stopped buying cigarettes and want to stop smoking - the second 1/2 is much harder. I figured since I only smoked about 1-1/2 packs a week it would be easy. Tue, 7 Nov 2006 11:43:06 EST Wanting to Join the Smoke-Free Hi everyone,
My name is Sherri and I have set my quit date for 10/17/06. That will give me exactly a month to quit smoking before my 39th birthday. I've tried several times in the past, but this time I am determined to do it. I'm trying to lose weight and exercise is a big part of that, but it's hard to exercise if you're puffing on a cigarette. I'm confident that with the support from everyone here I can do this this time around. Good luck to all. Sun, 15 Oct 2006 13:12:56 EST New Hi everyone. My name is Laura.
