We select our other Teams based on our special interests. Now, having been involved with SP almost 8 years, this Team has a unique tie. Share some of the "happenings" in your life that you attribute to SP. Sat, 18 Apr 2015 23:36:59 EST Spark Activity Tracker Has anyone from our alumni received or purchased a Spark Activity Tracker? Are you loving it or disappointed?

I have had mine for one week now. It does have some fancy technology to it, but seems to be inconsistent when you try to upload the data from the gadget to SparkPeople. But otherwise I love it. It pushes me to work out more. Lots of things about SparkPeople helps me keep on track and have had me maintain my weight loss for the last six years. Sun, 12 Jan 2014 12:34:36 EST Did you spin for bonus points today? You only have to have 25 points to spin. Water 5, Huddles 5, thread responses 15, daily recipe 3 log in 1-25 you can do it. Sat, 2 Mar 2013 23:23:08 EST Roll call I joined Spark and then did not know what to do with it. So I was not involved while the team was active. I was wondering who was left. It says the leader has not posted in 60 days. Do we want to continue? How many people are left? I just noticed we are a bit past 2 years. I am depressed because I could have lost all this weight since then. but, I am happy that I am doing it now. How is everyone else doing? Thu, 4 Jun 2009 22:23:10 EST Get it away from me!! Hi! I was sitting here, sucking back a 60 calorie Halloween sized pack of Twizzler Nibs, when I realized that I need to get them AWAY from the computer desk and get it STUCK in my brain that they're for the kids lunches! I've come to the conclusion that I can resist chips (yes, even Doritos!... mostly lol), chocolate and baked goods (although that one's a toughie!!) but for some reason I can inhale a bag of licorice before I know what's hit me. Not sure why that is but wow are they hard to re... Fri, 12 Sep 2008 21:36:05 EST Am I the only one? Hello. :) I was wondering if anyone else is still at the beginning? I've restarted but I never really got past the first stage.

btw... lol My name is Candice. I'll be 35 in 9 days and I'd REALLY like to get my life on track before it gets harder. :P Within the next couple of years I'd like to get pregnant with our last child so that's incentive as well. Fri, 31 Aug 2007 23:34:15 EST Exercise Challenge For those of you who want a challenge, please read on.
Most of you by now will be in a routine, and hopefully will be tracking your meals and exercise already.
The challenge this week is to do something a little different. For each additional 5 minutes you exercise beyond your normal levels, give yourself 10 points. Also, for each NEW exercise / activity you try, give yourself 15 points. Add up your points (either post daily or keep a note of them) and post at the end of the week... Mon, 20 Aug 2007 06:57:15 EST Team Leader You've all been on SP for some time now (nearly a quarter of a year already 40 ). If anyone would like to take over leadership of the team let me know and I will see if I can add you on.

Yvonne Thu, 9 Aug 2007 04:02:51 EST Can we get a "group icon" please? All of my other groups have a little image icon for them but this one still says "no group icon". We need an icon. If I were able to do it myself, I would, but I think someone has to be a group leader or something in order to do this. I'd be happy to find some images to choose from if this would help. It would be nice to have a group icon though. :-)

Wed, 8 Aug 2007 11:15:45 EST Feeling low, need encouragement hi guys,
I got the shock of my life this morning and I could cry. I have gone back up to my starting weight. All these weeks, I have learnt to make better choices, exercised by butt off, and for what :(
Where am I going wrong?
I've upped my cardio to over 3000 cals burned a week and so upped my cals. I've sweated buckets.
If I've exceeded my cals I have worked out harder.
I've drunk more water than ever before.
I don't think I want to do this anymore. I got my ho... Sat, 30 Jun 2007 04:22:15 EST Confused on new format Could someone just lead me through this? All the message boards I used to talk on are gone. Do we have to redo them all?

Thanks Wed, 20 Jun 2007 22:31:03 EST I suck! Hi.. I know I haven't been particularly active in this team, but I don't know who else to complain to. It's been a month, and I can lose a few, but then I start slacking. Then I get disgusted and motivated and then I slack again. I could've lost a ton by now, and I'm still in stage one struggling w/the most basic of goals! I know I just have to keep trying, but it's so unmotivating to bounce around like that. Does anyone else's will power rollercoaster, and what do you do about it?
... Wed, 20 Jun 2007 17:48:34 EST Can anyone tell me about Turbo Jam? I have heard Turbo Jam is a great workout - has anyone here done it?
Is it similar to Tae Bo? I have done the Tae Bo Advanced DVD but it was hard for me to keep up.I can do most of the DVD but do get tired. I am just wondering if Turbo Jam would be too difficult at this point.
thanks! :) Fri, 15 Jun 2007 11:05:49 EST FDA approved Alli - 2 use or not 2 use? Is anyone going to be adding 'Alli' the new FDA approved over the counter diet aid to their weight loss plan? It is the first FDA approved weight loss product which is comming out June 17th (I think). I am just curious. I may try it out but I'm still skeptical of course. It would work out perfect, since it works best if you only consume 15grams of fat or less per meal. That's about my average since I started eating healthier. The claim from the FDA is that it can help you lose 50% more w... Thu, 14 Jun 2007 21:06:36 EST Question about Weighing In I've offically weighed in and logged it on Sundays since I started.

But I've always been a daily weigh-in girl. I weigh my self first thing every morning. After I stumble into the bathroom I use it, then strip off my clothes and weigh.

Would it be wrong to log in my weight every time I've dropped some, or am I supposed to stick to the weekly thing?

Tue, 12 Jun 2007 12:11:19 EST HIGH FIBER cereal that actually tastes good? What HIGH FIBER cereal do you like? Im looking for some ideas. I've tried a few and so far, my favorite is "Fiber One Honey clusters" with 13 grams of fiber. Sat, 9 Jun 2007 10:59:34 EST Proud of myself...Thanks SparkPeople! I've been doing unders, and following the South Beach Diet. The lbs, but better yet, the inches are rolling off. 224 Fri, 8 Jun 2007 13:08:36 EST Wedding ring and weight loss I have lost 22 pounds so far and now my wedding ring is too big. Yesterday it just flew off my finger!
I do not want to resize it yet - more pounds to lose! I want to wear it without losing it! Does anyone have suggestions??? :) Wed, 6 Jun 2007 10:37:49 EST Augh I'm so upset! I went to put in my new measurements and weight today, and I erased the original ones. I know I took at least .5 off my waist. and 1 inch off my hips, and removed 1/2 lb over all. Is there any way to get the old measurements. Is it lost from my files forever? 234 Sun, 3 Jun 2007 13:06:45 EST Getting better every day. I'm really starting to turn my life around with the Sparks Team. This is great. I have been a no smoker for the past 2 days, and I feel that I've got it now! I have been tracking my neutrition, and my water for the most part. If I can do a little more each day, or even each week, I feel veery hopeful and happy about my progress. My goal is to do the workouts and track them.I'm so glad someone introduced me to this site. 252 Sat, 2 Jun 2007 21:57:01 EST The fat grams are getting me! Why is it that I can stay within the calorie range of 1200-1500 but the fat grams won't fall in line? I don't understand why I can't get those suckers under control. Fri, 1 Jun 2007 13:10:13 EST At last! It's been 3 weeks and I have finally seen my first weight loss! 2lbs down!

The sun is shining, my hard work is paying off and it's going to be a good day, I can feel it in my bones 104

So how do I get this to show on my tracker?

Have a good day everyone

Tina Thu, 31 May 2007 03:46:42 EST I suck That is all.

Actually, I haven't dropped a pound. Anything I lost came back.

I haven't even tried to rtack calories today. I am hoping tomorrow will begin with a feeling of renewal.

I'm not sure why this is hard. Tue, 29 May 2007 13:55:22 EST I think I overdid it I went to a subdivision garage sale yesterday with some friends. We parked the car and walked the subdivision for about 4 hours, stopping to go to all the sales. Then this morning I went on a two mile bike ride with my sister (no big deal I do this all the time). It wasn't until I went grocery shopping this afternoon that my legs began to hurt and now I feel like I can barely walk. I was going to go for another bike ride this afternoon but now I think I'm gonna have to take today and tomo... Sun, 27 May 2007 19:14:48 EST Is anyone ready to push into stage 2 OMG I have been mentally prpeparing to go full force since I started this diet. I was a little apprehensive at first but now my energey level is starting to pick up after beginning to eat right and now I am really ready!!! So is anyone ready to start this with me on Sunday? Fri, 25 May 2007 15:42:53 EST I ate for the first time!!! ETA: The title should read I ate OUT for the first time... (doh)

In the two weeks since I've started SP that is. I'm so proud of myself. I ordered a half of a sandwich instead of a whole, mustard instead of mayo (and on the side so I could control how much I put on) and I stayed within a good amount of calories for lunch!!! Yeah!!! Thu, 24 May 2007 17:23:00 EST Weight Ticker ♥ How do I change my weight ticker? I have tried by putting my new weight in under weigh in but it doesn't move up or down. Wed, 23 May 2007 21:31:45 EST I challenge you to challenge me Ok here it is the first 8 people to sign up. Tomorrow (Thursday) see how many crunches/sit ups you can do and I will match each of your totals on Friday.
Anyone wanna challenge me? Wed, 23 May 2007 21:01:21 EST Scale or No Scale? So I am debating on buying a scale...not sure if I want that constant reminder sitting on my bathroom floor. I'm afraid I might become obsessed with it.

I would rather tone up and notice a difference in my clothes, etc....any advice?

Thanks!!
Tue, 22 May 2007 16:15:50 EST Incident that made me cry Hey everybody!
I want to tell you what happened yesterday.
First... You know, the usual small pick up of supplies at a grocery store. Plus I was kinda hungry, so I was going to try the Rice cakes.

And this time, I found a digital food scale. I was sooo happy!!! Finally I would be able to weight my meat, ins... Tue, 22 May 2007 09:12:38 EST What's your loss so far? We all started between May 6-12, so I am wondering how every1 from my same starting point is doing so far?
As for me, I started

May 7th = 202
and today...
May 21st= 194.4! I've lost about 8 lbs!! 9

Ive also lost 2 inches on my waist!! Mon, 21 May 2007 12:38:15 EST What do you eat when you're really hungry? Hey everybody!
I joined SP on May 6th but today is the first day I'm writing in the Team (shame on me!).
I have a little problem. Sometimes, right after a meal, I'm very, very, veeeeeeeeeeeery hungry. Or sometimes it is between meals.
My question is: What do you eat when you are hungry, that does't have a lot of calories and keeps you full for a long time?
If you could answer, that would be great! I would love to have a list of handy foods that can fill me up without jeopa... Mon, 21 May 2007 12:27:11 EST Anyobne staying in Stage 1 longer? I really sucked at my Fast Break stuff. The only thing I did was the "track calories eaten". I have realized that I cannot get 8 hours sleep. I also suck at journaling. I consider my posting here and a home message board as my journaling but I don't think it should count since it isn't stretching me at all.

So, I changed my goals and see what I can do this week and then maybe move on mext week. Mon, 21 May 2007 09:58:01 EST meal plan? grocery list? hello! i was wondering how many of you are actually using the meal plan/ grocery list that is offered? i've been using the calorie counter and trying to stay within my range, but i the grocery list i printed out from the site was too overwhelming for me. plus, you had to buy such small portions of products that usually come in bulk. but anyway, i would go ahead and bite the bullet and stick to the grocery list if any of you were finding a great deal of success in it.... ?? Sun, 20 May 2007 23:44:17 EST When you're out of town with no computer? What can you do when you're away from computer access? Journal the food and exercise every day, and track it online when you get back? Will SP let you track retroactively?
Thanks. 38 Fri, 18 May 2007 22:58:30 EST How do I join this team? I've been looking around on this website for about 2 weeks now trying to find somewhere to fit in. Well, I choose you!

I'm not really sure how to join the team though. I don't see that option - am I just blind?

oh and how do I get that nice scale tracker thingy in my signature too?

Thanks guys! Fri, 18 May 2007 18:38:07 EST I am finally in my calorie range and.... I can tell a real difference! This afternoon at about noon I started getting a headache and i realized I hadn't eaten yet. I'm not a morning eater. i typically eat all my calories from about 3 on. But i've been working to change it. Anyway, I've been in my calorie range for a few days now and I'm feeling great! I can tell a real difference from being way under. Fri, 18 May 2007 17:59:43 EST Is this what usually happens? I just swithched from stage 1 to stage 2, and when I went to the main page, my caloric intake went from 1200-1550 to 1730-2080 has that happend to anybody else Fri, 18 May 2007 12:33:41 EST WALK AWAY THE POUNDS Anyone else use the walk away the pounds videos for their exercise. I just got her walkblaster about a week ago and it really increased my workou but I have a hard time knowing how to track it. I usually just pit in the miles as walking even though its alot more than a walk. Thu, 17 May 2007 19:27:18 EST Help!! I screwed up my goals! I changed my goals because I wanted a smaller more realistic goal, and noticed that my daily calorie goal went up to 1820-2170! It was 1300-1500(something)! Did this happen because I changed my goal weight? I changed my goal weight back to what it originally was but the calories didn't move.

Or is it a coincidence that today is one week that I have been tracking calories? Is this some kind of bonus?? lol

Help before I go to McDonalds and demolish my calorie allowance!!! ... Thu, 17 May 2007 19:14:57 EST Bathroom Scale *dum dum dum!* I called my doctor to push up my appt. mainly to get on that scale!! I have never in my life been excited to see what I weigh when I go to the doctor! *lol*

Can anyone recommend a good home scale? I've only had the $5 cheapies from Wal-Mart, before I step on, the scale is at 0. Then when I step off, the scale is at like... 15 lbs! Ha!~

So I definitely want a digital read (I think?). I've seen some nice glass ones that would actually look nice in the bathroom but my 271 l... Thu, 17 May 2007 17:59:44 EST Motivational PIctures I see some people have these pictures that have the body look you want, how do i get those? Thu, 17 May 2007 16:11:33 EST The secret weight loss weapon A couple months ago I invested in a 4gig Ipod (the cute little nano one...they come in hot pink!) Since then I have been filling it up with every song I can think of.

I bring my Ipod on my walk with me, and I love the music so much I never want to stop walking! I have a good 4 hours worth of music on there, all songs that I love. I find myself singing and dancing while I'm walking, and my walks last for hours because of it! It's amazing how much some good tunes helps your workout! Thu, 17 May 2007 11:05:50 EST Did you lose weight your first week? It is odd to say, cause normally I'm like, "I want to be healthy and I don't care about weight". But now I'm thinking, "Yeh, I wanna be healthy but I want to lose weight too." I feel like I have a good balance right now and I'm hoping it stays that way.

Anyway, I lost 7 pounds! I can already tell a difference in my taekwondo and streching, plus flexibility. I think it is from being hydrated. I have some tweaks to make to my eating but I'm doing it graduak so I don't feel deprived. ... Wed, 16 May 2007 23:36:26 EST After the Fast Break.... Has anybody looked ahead to see what changes after the first four weeks?

Or does anything?

Just curious!

108 Wed, 16 May 2007 22:41:19 EST Hoodia? I got a free sample of this supplement that has the suddenly popular Hoodia in it. At first I thought it was just another silly diet myth, but I took it anyway (hey, it's free! right?) and I've noticed a really big difference in my eating. I'm just NOT hungry most of the day. It's amazing, I think about food and I just don't want to eat it!

It also has a good amount of caffeine in it, so my energy is through the roof haha. But I'm wondering if anyone else has tried this stuff? If i... Tue, 15 May 2007 13:11:25 EST No longer the newbies? How did this happen? I just realized that we are no longer the newest class. Does this make us sophomores?

I love this place!

108
Mon, 14 May 2007 19:11:25 EST 1200 to 1550 calories per day? I've noticed it seems a number of us have that caloric formula right now, and I've got to say that I'm loving it. I'm having no problem sticking to those numbers and hope mine doesn't drop as I lose weight, or I WILL have trouble.

I'm riding my bike 45 minutes per day, five days per week. I'm supposed to be strength training, too, but haven't found my dumbbells (which makes me feel like a dumb bell!).

What about the rest of you? Are you have probs with your caloric le... Mon, 14 May 2007 19:09:48 EST Is there anything that you have had to give up? Is there anything that was regularly in your diet that you have removed?

I took out m&ms. i was saying in another thread that I probably ate 2000 calories in peanut butter m&ms. So, I've removed just about all chocolate.

I've also removed dairy unless it is in the form of cheese, yogurt, or cottage cheese. Sun, 13 May 2007 18:56:14 EST trouble keeping up with this forum I can't for the life of me, keep on top of this forum, there is just so much going on. I guess we are just all pumped up. Sat, 12 May 2007 17:27:23 EST weigh in's and body measurements How often should I weigh in track it and do body measurements. Sat, 12 May 2007 02:57:22 EST What is your "calories burned" weekly goal? Mine is 1428.

What do they base this number on anyway? Is it based on your goal and potential "deadline"? Cause I've only done my normal taekwondo stuff this week, not added anything, and I'm already above 1600. So, I'm thinking about increasing mine to something I'd have to really work for. But then will it increase my calorie intake? Fri, 11 May 2007 15:54:33 EST Hello! My name is Christina, I'm 24 and I've always been bigger, but it hasn't really bothered me until recently. My husband and I have been attempting to get pregnant for 2 years and my doctor told me it would boost our chances if I lost a little weight. When I realized that I had actually climbed up over the 200 pound mark, I decided she was probably right. So here I am! Fri, 11 May 2007 13:43:41 EST Is this your first time counting calories? I have NEVER counted calories before. I'm finding it pretty easy. I thought it would make me feel like I was dieting but so far I don't feel like that at all.

For instance, today I went to the store at lunch to find something to eat. So, I love those Naked brand smoothies. I picked one up and looked. If I were to drink the bottle, 2 servings, it would be about 250 calories. Not the best since I normally need something solid to chew before I feel satisfied so my options were going t...
