Happy 3rd anniv, SP Class of 2007! http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=-1x7928x33529326 Don't know everyone's story from SP's Class of 2007. Has everyone hit their fitness mark? Are you maintaining or still losing more?? I'm MsBootcamp. Joined SP in 2007 then got busy with "other things". (In 2007 I also didn't realise how hip & useful SP is!) So it's like I'm new even though I'm not. Three years ago I was in shape - size 8 at 5ft7. Now I have some lbs to drop. So I'm dropping em this time to keep em off. Thanks for your inspiration! 304 236 Sun, 18 Apr 2010 19:40:00 EST Meet Shy Nikki http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=-1x7928x26832924 I am a Shy but bubbly person who enjoys life though right now it seems life is hard to live, but i'm determined to make positive changes in my life. I'm disappointed to say that I really backslid in the last few months of 2008 so I have re-work to do. Ugh, that was very hard to say. However, what's done is done. The only thing that counts is what I do today! It seems like I coincided with Oprah's weight gain. It was very helpful to see her talking about "How did I let this happen again?" and picking herself back up. For me part of that has to be posting on this s... I was watching TLC last night, and Paul Mckenna was on with "I can make you thin." I was curious, so I watched. He uses a tapping technique to calm emotional eating. It's a little goofy, and I don't really want anyone to see me doing it, but I've tried it today to curb my craving for chocolate, and so far, so good. It looks like lots of us fizzled out since Spring/early summer.

I know I just completely flaked. I got busy at work, vacation etc. and just stopped. However, its the start of fall and I'm determined to get back on track. Luckily I only gained a little bit over the summer despite my laziness.

Does anyone know if it's possible to go back to an earlier stage? I think I kind of need to restart the stages back at the first stage.

Sun, 9 Sep 2007 15:09:20 EST anybody interested in a September challenge? http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=0x7928x8549254 Hi everybody, I know things have slowed down around here a bit, so hopefully we can get back into SP through a September Challenge!

If there's any interest for a challenge it will probably be very similar to the June challenge in terms of targets to meet (cardio, ST, water, etc.) and maybe a few other things like miles walked or streaks? Let me know what you guys think and I'll start to put it together :) Mon, 27 Aug 2007 14:37:21 EST August Chatter http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=0x7928x8305497 Hi, everyone! I have been trying to eat better for the last couple weeks. I sprained my ankle on Thursday and I don't know how for sure. I was just checking my email.
It's feeling better, so I'm going to try to workout tomorrow.
I'm also wearing a pedometer to see how many steps I take a day. I was reminded yesterday of how tricky food labels can be. We went out to eat. I got a salad. There was this Arizona Blueberry White Tea sitting there and I looked at the label. It said 70 calories so I decided to get it because it sounded good (I love blueberries). Anyway, when I went to put it into the Nut. Tracker, I realized that the 70 cal. was per 8oz serving and not for the bottle I drank. That was 20 oz! So I got 105 more ounces than I thought I did. No biggie, but... I already started doing something like this at the same time as the "leftover system" step. I had discovered a couple of soup recipes that were really good and I made 4 servings, then froze the extras and used them in my meal plans for lunches.

Today, in deference to the action step, I am making a 8-serving batch of one of the soups and a 4-serving batch of another. I'm making the lower-fat lasagna recipe from spark recipes... Measurements are making small but fairly steady improvements, so I know that something is happening...but it is discouraging to put so much time and energy into meal planning and proper shopping and packing that lunch and making that breakfast even if it means running late...you know, I'd like a little more results.

I really, really should not gripe becaus... It's a great DVD that mixes traditional Tahitian dance with cardio exercise and really works every muscle in your body. I think what I enjoy about the dvd so much is it doesn't feel like a chore - I actually have fun while working out! Sun, 13 May 2007 15:33:27 EST Dinner out http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=0x7928x6515284 I had a bad day yesterday. I went out to dinner and consumed more calories than I should have. I suppose I should just chalk it up to suprising my body with more food which could get my metabolism up and move on.

I don't even know how to go about tracking it (it wasn't a chain, so, calorieking and all those sites won't help) so I just added two servings of chinese spareribs to my tracker to estimate the number of calories.

Today is another day. And the best part is that it is a bit sweeter than the regular Diet Coke, so it tastes more like the regular Coke. I love it! Mon, 23 Apr 2007 21:24:52 EST Weight - no scale http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=0x7928x6146609 So, I do not own a scale.

I really do not want to buy a scale as I do not want to become weight number obsessed. Plus I move around a lot(13 times in 3 years) and really do not want another thing to pack.

I am wondering if there is another way I can track how I am doing.

I really want to see results. Is there another way?

Any advice would be helpful.

Mon, 23 Apr 2007 16:34:36 EST Quick question about the Meal Planner http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=0x7928x6144677 I have just started to use the calorie tracker / menu planning section of SP. When I put in what I had for lunch and select the "Add to Favorites" button, I'm wondering exactly what that does for me? Will the menu planner start to include that item in future suggestions? How often? Is there benefit to adding it to my favorites section?

Thanks for helping and sharing.
