I signed up w/ SP back in 2007, but never really started. I am ready to make changes now and looking forward to meeting more people for support. I have tried this weight loss thing on my own for the past few years and have not been successful. So I am taking the advice I give to others, "if what you are doing is not bringing positive results, try something new"....
Thu, 3 Jan 2013 10:53:30 EST Is Anyone still on here that started in 2007??? http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=0x7926x47100253 Hey,

Just curious if anyone is on here that started in April of 2007? I've been on and off of SP for the last 5 years, but I am back again. This time to stay. I wanted to see if anyone was left on this team that started around the time I did and check on progress if there is any. It would be nice to find out that some people that started when I did are still on here. Sun, 20 May 2007 15:31:58 EST sucked it up and put my gain in my ticker http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=0x7926x6631096 didn't want to do it, but needed to be done. Almost a pound a day this week. Blech... anyway, back on meds, back on track and hopefully that 4 pounds will drop quickly. Part of my med is a diuretic (high blood pressure). Over the past few days I've noticed that I've been slowly gaining weight. Ugh.

I'm just perturbed that it seems that if I ever get off the meds my weight will skyrocket again. I'm just not sure what to do and how I can accommodate knowing where I truly am if I'm not on the meds. It sucks. Wed, 16 May 2007 09:36:38 EST Amazing and inspiring man! http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=0x7926x6537570 I just found out that a local business owner in my area rode his bicycle across the country. In 40 days. At the ripe old age of 80. While battling non-Hodgkins lymphoma!!!

If I'm half that kick-butt at age 80, I'd be thrilled!

Is there anybody in your world you find particularly inspiring? But, I'm also taking a daily multivitamin, and ground flaxseed and Omega-3 fatty acid capsules (fish oil) for elevated cholesterol. For some reason, it never occurred to me to add these things to my nutrition tracker, but yesterday I added them all. Not only are there a few calories in the flax and fish oil, but the daily vitamin gave me a terrific boost in the other nutrie... And this morning, one month into the program I decided to take the same shot again. My mirror doesn't tell me how I'm doing, maybe my camera would. I think I can see a difference. My shoulders seem to have a little definition now and I'm pretty sure the love handles are diminishing. I'm going to take the same shot, same clothes, same pose once a month to check my progress and I will post them in my gallery. Does anybody else want to do this too? It m... I've worked with a trainer before when I was an elite figure skater, but it's definitely a lot harder when you're not in great shape to begin with! I tend to be hungry pretty much all the time, so lately I've been chewing gum to keep myself from eating to much or the bad things. I know there is a difference between wanting to eat and just being hungry, but for me I feel like I am actually hungry most of the time. For example, I ate lunch about an hour and half ago. I was really really full when I was done. I had tortellinis that filled me up... It was so inspiring watching those runners after they had run 26 miles. Made me realize that yes, I can achieve my goals and yes I can become a runner even though right now I run 3 blocks and get winded. There so so many average looking people, not elite runners, but just normal, fit people. It was definitely a wonderful experience.
