Thu, 23 Apr 2009 07:31:39 EST Anyone else have this problem? I like to unwind on the weekends. This weekend is a long one for me. I took yesterday off and our office was closed today. I'm feeling pretty good. Got up this a.m. and made a pot of coffee and started doing some house cleaning. About 1:30 this afternoon I felt like having a cocktail so I started hittin' the bourbon, cranked up the tunes and reorganized my cd racks. I guess the bad thing is - I've eaten absolutely nothing at all today. Coffee, bourbon and diet sprite. Funny thing is -... Fri, 10 Apr 2009 17:02:19 EST Favorite Live Album I'm not a huge fan of recorded live music. I prefer the studio albums and would rather be there in person for the live stuff but - there are two live albums that I think are really good. The first one is KISS Alive. Even though they admitted later that they put a lot of polish on it in the studio, its still a great live album. The other one I really like is AC/DC - If You Want Blood You've Got It. It was recorded at a small venue and you can really sense the energy from the crowd and Bon... Fri, 10 Apr 2009 10:58:47 EST Music you despise... What a relief! I was a teenager in the 80s and I love hair bands, metal, guys with long hair, you get the picture. Remember Headbanger's Ball on MTV? I'm so glad you created this team! --Heather Sun, 29 Mar 2009 00:20:35 EST One Song You Never Need To Hear Again My good friend and I listen to tons of music and music is and always has been a huge part of our lives. So from time to time we'll hear a song on the radio or t.v. and often it will be a song that we both agree we could live the rest of our lives and never have to hear it again (classic rock radio sucks!). There are many songs but for me the one song I could really stand to never have to hear again is More Than A Feelin' by Boston. Our local classic rock station plays Boston incessantly. ... Sat, 28 Mar 2009 16:39:08 EST Are Older Guys w/Long Hair Creepy? For most of my life I've alternated between growing my hair and cutting it short. I usually cut it because I just get tired of messin' with it. I cut it short again a couple of months ago and saw my dad's 3rd wife the other day who commented how much I looked like my father with this hair cut. I don't hate my dad but I really don't care to look or be like him so - is it creepy when you see an older guy with long hair? Thanks for the feedback. Hi, my name is Laura, and not only am I trying to loose this stupid weight that I've put on (the trials of being a woman!), but now I've found people who love the same kind of music I do and won't think I'm wierd when I say that Tool is my favorite band of all time, and that Maynard is just about the best singer I've ever heard(and trust me, I've heard tons and tons). Other bands I like are Metallica, Radiohead, NIN, Foo Fighters, and on and on. Last metal concert was Tool, and they were so... Mon, 17 Mar 2008 16:37:16 EST Must see music vids Here's your opportunity to share the fruits of your online quests or video store finds. Music videos? Rock-umentaries? Whatever. Tell us about em here, or start a separate thread if you feel it's gonna warrant its own space. We all know there's space a plenty on this team forum.
I think we'll be OK as long as we post a warning about language or explicit lyrics next to the link.

Here's my first. Mon, 17 Mar 2008 03:30:28 EST Metal: A Headbangers Journey Oh man, if you guys haven't checked out this video you should put it on your Netflix list, or better yet, buy the darned thing. It's well worth the money. The narration that comprises the actual documentary is so-so but the interviews in the extras disk are outstanding. We're talk'n Lemmy, Dio, Dimebag, Dee, Dickinson, Cooper and a whole crap-load more! (Wow, that was a crap-load of D's. Hehehe)
I know I sound like a commercial but I can't help it. A guy in one of my classes told us about odd experiences he had while working at Hastings. You know how they have special midnight releases of some media items when you can come and pick up your reserved copy of whatever? Well they were having a double release of The Passion of The Christ and the new ICP album. You can imagine the difference between the people waiting in line for either item. My classmate said it was one of the nastiest crowds the... Tue, 15 Jan 2008 17:17:24 EST Soapy says hell yah! Tue, 15 Jan 2008 02:02:08 EST Hello people I'm Nash. I've been a member of SparkPeople for almost a year but neglected it... mostly because all the different doodads on this site were sort of overwhelming to me, haha.

I used to be overweight at 200 pounds, which is a lot for a small framed 5'8" guy. Now I'm 165 pounds and pretty happy with how I look. Sadly, I broke my fibula the day after Christmas and I haven't been able to do my daily cardio for a couple weeks now. I'm looking forward to getting my leg healed up so I can... Thu, 10 Jan 2008 15:02:36 EST Perfect Mornin' everyone. Name is Jon. I saw this team on someone else's page. I'm a metalhead from way back in the 80's. Heck, when I wanted to get a tattoo in college, my friend suggested a grim reaper to represent the "metal" side of me. Honestly, that's how she suggested it!

Anyhow, I look forward to meeting everyone and banging our heads together while losing weight! Sun, 25 Feb 2007 11:38:52 EST The new Borknagar Anyone heard the new Borknagar album? It seriously doesn't even sound like the same band anymore. They've completely eschewed their normal metal aesthetic and adopted kind of a folksy, light rock sound complete with a re-imagining of one of the classic songs from The Olden Domain, "Oceans Rise" that has kept me listening to it on repeat. I could easily see this finding airplay in a more mainstream setting than I might have expected from Borknagar... Even still, I would call this a marked impr...
