I figured I would look into the website after reading an inspiring story from an individual in a magazine. I have struggled with my weight since the birth of my daughter 7 years ago. Since then I have had another child. My problem has always been I LOVE to eat and don't feel like I can exercise. I am hoping to get a different perspective now after joining Spark People. My little sister is getting married in a year and I don't want to be the fat maid of hon... Sat, 19 Jan 2013 13:54:22 EST Not new to SparkPeople, but new to message boards. http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=-1x6161x51675737 Hi, I'm Vickie and I had resigned to being overweight until I found out I had diabetes (type 2). Something about those words triggered something in my head and I started cutting out foods that I thought would make me have a high reading, then I noticed I was losing weight.......YEA!!!! I've lost 54 pounds since April 2012 and look to lose that much this year (or more) My sugar levels have dropped to well within range (still on the meds right now though) and my LDL is down to 95 (was 118)....... I like strength training better than cardio but I'll moan and groan my way to weight loss, :-) I just went grocery shopping tonight and really tried to make sure I bought lots of fresh fruit and veggies as well as some protein and dairy products. My husband is on board with me so that m... I feel like I need to be in better control of my time. I'm not sure how to do that. Any suggestions would help me. Last year this time I joined Weight Watchers with my daughter, I was a drop out by May, she hit her
goal last week (during Christmas week ?!? crazy!), and she lost 67 pounds and looks fabulous. WW didn't click for
me like it did for her. So, I'm trying SparkPeople. I bought the Sparkpeople cookbook a year ago and didn't crack
the cover until today.

Thanks in advance for your support :) Sun, 6 Jan 2013 21:53:52 EST Arthritis issues makes weight loss more crucial http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=-1x6161x51502668 HI! I had knee surgery earlier this year for a number of issues but the main problem is arthritis in my knee. At first I seem to be recovering well but then I had some setbacks. I have found it tough to not be discouraged by the pain and swelling in my knee when doing normal activities. This week I am starting physical therapy to strengthen my leg and I want to lose weight as the doctor said this will also help. Sun, 6 Jan 2013 13:57:35 EST
