SparkPeople SP Class of May 26- June 1, 2013 Team Messageboard Hello everyone Hi, My name is Tina. I've been tracking my calories and exercising for the last week. I've started and stopped many times but I feel confident that I have the right motivation to stick to it this time, however, today has been hard. Sun, 2 Mar 2014 19:05:07 EST Hoping this can help me! Hi! My name is Jen. I joined spark people a long time ago but i dont know that i ever posted before. Losing weight is a serious issue for me. I want to lose weight and i want to feel better about myself but i've been through a lot and i tend to use food as a way to fill the voids i feel inside. I also use my weight as a way to hide and to keep people from being attracted to me or from getting too close. I have been going to weight watchers since July and i have lost 18.4 lbs but i really had ... Thu, 26 Dec 2013 00:15:20 EST Should I adjust my fitness settings daily? I have some days that I am very active, burning lots of calories, those are the days I work. On my days off I am lucky if I get a 30 minute walk in. The adjustment in calories is a difference of about 1000. Should I tweak my fitness settings on a daily basis to know how many calories I should consume, or just leave it at the higher one? Sat, 6 Jul 2013 19:12:35 EST Hi there! Hi, I'm trying to get motivated to take off the weight that's been creeping up on me over the past year (10-15 lbs). I'm doing way better at exercising, but I still hit the sweets in a way that I really, really shouldn't. Tue, 2 Jul 2013 22:41:10 EST weighed too soon I made the stupid mistake of weighing myself today - my plan is to weigh once a week on Sun morning. But I only lost 1 pound last week and I was sure I would have lost more.

Well I was feeling so much better - that's good - so I said I bet I'm down another pound - magical thinking. And so I got on the scale and voila - "It" said I'd gained a pound.

I know better than to go by a weigh in at any one point in time - and I laughed at the irony. It's like the scale was try... Tue, 25 Jun 2013 08:30:19 EST Hi My name is Barbara and I am a mother of 2 beautiful children, 4yrs; 2 mo. I am a wife and stay at home mom. Hello and have a Blessed Day Hello. My name is Yvette. I am 29 years old. I'm a divorcee. All my life I have been considered big or thick (same thing) since middle school. After having my daughter at 25 week and having to sign my rights over so she can be given a better life since she have very special needs that I cannot give her by myself and then having a still-born a year later really took a toll on me. Mon, 3 Jun 2013 09:18:56 EST Caregiver On the day that I joined Sparkpeople, I received a call that my Father-in-law was dying of lung cancer and that he would be put on home hospice. I was floored! I, happily, started taking over his daily errands and chores but find I am having a hard time keeping up with my own care. I have forgotten to log in my meals and blood glucose readings and have forgone my exercises to be with him. Maybe it is just a problem of learning a new schedule, but I am worried as my numbers have been crazy. Do... Mon, 3 Jun 2013 08:41:19 EST Hi Y'all! Hello Everyone, my name's Rachel. I'm 25 years old and just moved from New Orleans to Dallas. Mon, 3 Jun 2013 07:36:04 EST Goal Setting I am working on completing the first week's tasks on one of the groups. I am finding the task, setting and sharing goals, difficult because i do not understand the message boards. (I do not have any experience with contributing to a message board, only surfing them!). Do I create a new post every time? It appers there are "Goal" psts (no un intended), but no way for me to post a new contribution on the subject.

Any help for a newbie would be appreciated. I am new to the program and was wondering who else might have hypothyroid, and if there are any specific eating dos and don'ts, as well as exercise routines? I live in the mountains and have found a mild, beautiful walking trail (not hiking, as there are no inclines for 2 miles) but for now, while I build up fitness, it's great!
