I'm a 27 year old mother of two beautiful girls (11 and 5), I'm a paralegal in my hometown, I'm married to my jr. high sweetheart of 15 years, and I have lost 77 lbs in the last year. I have been a member of SparkPeople for almost that entire year, but have never posted to message boards. I've also not been the best at tracking my food and exercise. Between work and taking the girls to all of their activities and practices (I'm a basketball, gymnastics, and baton twirling mom!!) I just haven'... Thu, 6 Feb 2014 09:39:00 EST Vegan is In Hi I am kind of new or actually new at making contacts to meet someone. I am trying to stick with the vegan lifestyle but I keep running out of ideas, can some one help me with ideas and recipes for lunch, super and breakfast? Tue, 4 Feb 2014 20:31:51 EST Need support Hi,

I am Vanda. I want lost weight. I lack determination and give up easily. Need help to push myself to excercise Sun, 2 Feb 2014 20:31:20 EST Is anyone making progress? From when I started, I have had a few changes of plan, but I am quite happy with my approach now. I am not weighing myself regularly, only at the nurse's office when I get a chance. My main focus is on improving how I *feel* not how I look. I am starting to feel much better, mainly due to altering my medication.

Does anyone have any success stories yet? However big or small, goals achieved are great for motivation, so I think they should always be shared!

E_F x Mon, 29 Jul 2013 13:31:33 EST Happy holiday Happy 4th everyone. Thu, 4 Jul 2013 00:29:30 EST Did you know.... One pound of body fat equals 3,500 calories. Therefore, to drop 1 pound per week, you must create a deficit of 3,500 calories over the course of seven days, which equals 500 calories per day.

Information from Calorie Calculation 101 article on Spark by Becky Hand. Mon, 1 Jul 2013 13:17:35 EST Falling off the wagon... So I fell off the wagon for about a month and a half, I didn't gain any weight back but also didn't lose any more weight. I was really excited and motivated at first, then once I started losing a couple pounds I started thinking I could do it without tracking my food and exercise, and for the first week calculating in my head probably worked, but then I got lazy and stopped. Obviously my progress stalled, and I got discouraged. Now I'm back, because I feel like tracking keeps you accountab... Tue, 30 Apr 2013 14:57:53 EST New to SparkPeople Norma, 38, mother of four, and currently at 210pounds. I stumbled across SparkPeople and got inspired by simply reading posts from others regarding weight loss and their transformation to a healthier life. Although this site seems overwhelming, I'm going to try my best to navigate it, with my 16month old lingering around. Hope to cultivate a new mind set and meet friendly people along the way. Thanks! Thu, 25 Apr 2013 20:09:39 EST Hello there! Well, here we go! I just joined SparksPeople one week ago. The struggle of blending a stressful job with a stressful family has left me with very little time or energy for myself. However, having recently turned fifty I realize that something has got to give. I have dealt with overweight and obesity long enough! I have joined up here because I realize I need some support from somewhere. This is not to say that I don't have support from my family and friends, just that they don't get it.... Thu, 25 Apr 2013 12:19:23 EST New to SP! Hi, everyone. My name's Aly and I'm a newbie. I'm looking to make myself healthier and to develop some life long healthy habits (and to lose a few pounds). My primary struggles are with mindless snacking (because I'm a total foodie) and inconsistency with excersize. I'm hoping that this community will help to keep me accountable and on a steady path to a better self-image.

Have a beautiful day! Mon, 22 Apr 2013 16:32:35 EST how's everyone doing? I'm starting to get a hang of what SP can offer me and am concentrating on my fast break goals for now. I was just wondering how everyone else is getting on and if you have found anything particularly interesting that you want to share?

My favourite go-to thing at the moment is the Success Stories (under the Community tab) - they are so inspiring and make me really want to stick with this!

E_F x Mon, 22 Apr 2013 14:00:13 EST Hello to all from new member Molly Howdy. Fri, 19 Apr 2013 17:08:53 EST Hello all!! Hi, my name is Cynthia. I am on my second weight loss journey. A few years ago, after being overweight my whole life, I lost 90 pounds through exercise and healthy eating. Then when I got pregnant with my second child in 2009, I gained 50 pounds. Since then, I have not been taking care of myself very well. I am currently about 174, wanting/needing to lose in between 45-50 pounds. I'm relaunching my weight loss goals with the determination to finish my journey before the year of 2013 comes to a close. It won't be easy, but I do believe that it is possible. I also know that I can't do this alone. I'm 50 years old, and I don't want to spend the rest of my life, fat, sick and nearly dead. I want to live my life. And to do that I need to lose some weight and add muscle.
This is a new start. We're in this together. Thu, 18 Apr 2013 13:25:24 EST 2 months of working out and eating healthy...
