Wow. I just updated my SparkPage with my 2013 information, and I was surprised to see that I have already registered for 15 different events. Pfft, and I thought I was slowing down this year.

What have YOU got ahead of you for this year?
Thu, 7 Mar 2013 10:19:26 EST March? Plans, goals or ideas? I am one week into a 6 week challenge that includes 20 minutes exercise of some sort daily, a daily quiet time (experimenting with different types of meditation) and the hardest goal of keeping weekends on track.

Things I have put in place to help with this is talking about my needs to my fiancé to get help with staying on track at weekends.
Planning in something "treat" at the weekends, a thin churro at Costco tomorrow and Sunday we are going to the Chinese supermarket so I ... Fri, 1 Mar 2013 15:40:57 EST 7 Week Challenge Recently, I made a 7 Week Challenge to get myself back on track. It looks like this...

Week 1: Focus on drinking 100 oz of water daily.
Week 2: Avoiding sweets (i.e.: donuts, cookies, cupcakes, cookies)
Week 3: Aim to work out 3x a week.
Week 4: Avoid eating out to any restaurants.
Week 5: Aim to work out 4x a week.
Week 6: Focus on eating clean this week and adding more fruits/veggies into diet.
Week 7: Aim to workout 5x this week with 3x being... Thu, 28 Feb 2013 22:20:34 EST Weekly Check In - Week of Feb. 10th I really like the people on this team and I think it would help everyone if we had a weekly check in. Other teams do a daily check in but I get annoyed with that.

1. What do you think about starting a weekly check in?

2. How are you doing? Sun, 10 Feb 2013 14:51:49 EST Post Goal Attainment Syndrome I spent nearly a year preparing for my Ragnar Relay and the movie, From Fat To Finish Line. And I had the most amazing experience in Florida running with the team. But since then, I've struggled with everything. After the relay, I have done nothing. Literally. The only other time I worked out at all was to run the Carlsbad Marathon. (Crazy, right? Work out once in a month and its a full marathon?)

Anyway, my teammate has described it as Post Goal Attainment Syndrome. I think he may... Sun, 10 Feb 2013 11:13:59 EST OMG, Has it Really been 2 Years? My sparkversary is in February. The time flew by! I saw this team on Wolfkitty's page and I was curious. I'm very interested in hearing and sharing insights and basically just staying motivated. Mon, 21 Jan 2013 23:37:41 EST Tracking Range Question I've decided to start tracking again but always get panicky that I will run out of calories. How do I know how many calories I should have ate after lunch? Half? Under half? Over half? Tue, 8 Jan 2013 15:39:54 EST Strength Training: What do you do? What do you do for strength training? Static moves? Kettlebells? A routine at the gym?

I typically do a routine at the gym three times a week. It kinda just dawned on me that maybe I should strength train more than three times a week since I have been training three days a week since I started to lose weight like 5 years ago. Even through the exercises change, my muscles don't get sore as often as they once did.

I started looking on for different routin... Sun, 6 Jan 2013 20:48:29 EST Binge Board Anyone else have a binging problem? I do - and it's bad. Seasons like the one we've just come through don't help either because my stomach is all stretched out, and so I'm hungry more often. And I HATE being hungry. I'm actually scared of it. Plus with the stress I'm under, binging just makes me feel the moment. And then I feel bad. It's so terrible.

Anyway - thought maybe confessing to some of these issues and talking through them might help.

Last night ... Fri, 28 Dec 2012 21:04:14 EST Courage Under Fire Hey Guys,

Gotta be honest - life is really poopy right now. In fact - things haven't been great for a while. I've taken on too much with work - all of my work - 4 jobs - and I'm about to step into 4 months of incredible high pressure. I'm NOT looking forward to January 1st. My life just won't be my own until the end of April. And I actually AGREED to this. It's too late to back out of anything now, I'm signed up, and the fallout from backing out of any of these projects at th... Thu, 27 Dec 2012 18:49:08 EST Member #19 checking in Hi All!!

WOLFKITTY told me about this team, so THANK YOU! to her! I've been following her for years now..why we never became Sparkfriends before this? I have NO clue because she is pretty damned cool and I am glad I am now.

I've been Sparking since Feb 2008 and I have joked around that I am a "Sparklifer" to people on here on way too many occassions. I'm not planning on going anywhere either, so this team is perfect in that sense.

I'm in Maintenance - hav... Sun, 23 Dec 2012 11:06:12 EST Help. I need your help.

I have gain 10-15 pounds because my eating has been crazy. Because of my success of losing weight, my family is losing weight now. Just as I gain it. I just cannot get my eating under control. I have been thinking of going to Overeaters Anonymous. My eating habits are seriously returning to what they were. Just the other night I ate half a pan of brownies. It's like I was disappointed by the "reward" of losing weight that it wasn't what I wanted that now I am slo... Wed, 28 Nov 2012 20:00:00 EST 21 Days of Fitness, 12 Days of Christmas, and NYE! OK everyone,

December seems to be a good time for challenges. Why? Because it's even MORE challenging to stick to your guns through this crazy, hectic, busy and FULL time of year, so the payoff is even bigger.

I heard through the grapevine of a couple of people launching into this "21 Days of Fitness" challenge, and I thought, why not jump on the healthy bandwagon?

Here it is:

For the next 21 Days - starting TODAY (11/28/12) and ending Dec 18th, y... I want to say 304 to all the people on this team from the creator, the leaders and the members. I was really starting to feel alone and like no one else was struggling and was getting frustrated with people saying "Oh, you can do it." Whenever they said that, it was like it was not as hard wrong as it once was. Well, it is and if not, more so.

Anyhow, thanks to your support I feel I am getting back on track. As long as I work out today, I will be on Day 16 of continued... Mon, 12 Nov 2012 10:08:59 EST Finding motivation in finding new recipes... Last couple of days I have been using time constructively, I am very ill and the 4 day weekend off work has been an absolute wash out, such a waste of holiday days *sad*

But have been searching for new recipes, both adapting from a new book I bought, and searching a new website I found and adapting those recipes (some had just insane amounts of salt added!).

Anybody got some website they could suggest for browsing?

This was a recent series on UK TV, Si and Dav... Sat, 10 Nov 2012 16:08:37 EST Ways to Relax My #1 way to de-stress is exercise. When I cannot have energy to exercise or it is too late in the day, I seem to have no other ways to relax.

How do you relax after a long, stressful day besides exercise? Sun, 4 Nov 2012 13:52:02 EST Just Needed to Talk... Everyone here has been so supportive. And, this is something I cannot blog about. Why? I have family on my page and my family is part of the problem.

So, I have gained TEN pounds. I know it's not a big deal. Right?! 40 Well, it scares me that I gained it because it is not as easy to drop the pounds like it once was. I guess the other part of it is that I wasn't too motivated to lose it because it filled in the area that had the most saggy skin. My sisters has asked if i... Thu, 1 Nov 2012 10:16:15 EST No Sweat! Okay, for almost a year or more, I have not been not sweating. But, I want to sweat! I miss the buckets full of sweat, like when I first started this journey. And, I even felt amazing afterwards. Sometimes I get anxious and frustrated because I am 'working out' but not really sweating. I can bike for a hour and not a drop. I can lift and barely break a sweat. When I run, it's more of a decent sweat. Still... it's nothing like before.. I miss it.

Has anyone else experienced this? ... Wed, 31 Oct 2012 22:07:44 EST Weekend Plans? What's everyone up to this weekend?

I have a birthday party to go to tonight, and my plan is to eat cake for dinner if I have to because I AM STAYING IN MY CALORIE RANGE today. I'm down one more pound this week and I'm SO close to those beautiful 70s I can taste it.

I have to work Saturday and accomplish a bunch of errands, finish my Halloween costume, and do laundry, but then Sunday we might head to Six Flags for the day. Much temptation, but much walking. So I will ... Fri, 26 Oct 2012 18:06:23 EST Hi =] I'm team member #15 I just celebrated my 28th month SparkVersary and saw this team with members I recognized and admire so I joined to help the cause of Sparking On in the direction of all our dreams 381 386 249 248

My name's Linda, I live in Seal Beach, CA. Tue, 23 Oct 2012 15:41:49 EST About me too :) Except for my tour of duty in the Air Force, I have been overweight for the majority of my life. It seemed like I would self destruct after I would manage to lose 20 lbs. After a number of false starts, I finally made it past 20 lbs and kept going.

Now I am at a loss of 116 pounds. Looking back, it doesn't seem like it was that big of a deal to do it. I latched on to a healthy lifestyle and I love what I do and really don't struggle with the temptation to self destruct and go back... Sat, 20 Oct 2012 01:10:05 EST I DESERVE... I learned about positive "mantras" from running. When times get tough or if I really need to buckle down and focus on something, I'd often find that a mantra would just pop into my head and it would be exactly the thing that I needed to hold on to to push me through.

While running CRAZY miles and eating like a fiend to match the calories I was burning every week, I got in the habit of saying "I deserve..." and following that up with some high calorie food because I felt like anyon... Thu, 18 Oct 2012 17:39:21 EST SanDiegoJohn, Marathon Runner Here's the long and short of my story...

ry.html

These days, though, I'm feeling more like my old slug self. I put together a Fall Challenge and it just wasn't what I needed. So, I'm going to revamp it and see if I can make it work.

Nice to be on this team. I think, sometimes, the best thing is to know that you are not the only one going through a tough patch. Wed, 17 Oct 2012 14:56:14 EST 100 Days of Working Out Challenge I am part of a team that is called 100 Days of a Healthier You. You pick a challenge and try to make a streak of 100 days. I chose working out for at least 10 minutes for 100 days. After I committed, I realized I need some support and opened it up to my real life friends. A few jumped on it and I decided to make it a group on Facebook.

Here is the link:

569/

If you are interested in joining the challenge, but not... Wed, 17 Oct 2012 14:33:17 EST What do you think you need? I think as we have established the shiny unicorns and magic fairies has been replaced with shedding cats and laundry lists.

So what do you think you need to help?

I honestly don't know what I need to help me.

I have massive reasons to motivate me, yet I still fudge up at weekends!

I do know I want some friends who are not fair-weather friends, I want to be able to complain and then find the small bright side and appreciate it for what it is when its... Wed, 17 Oct 2012 11:36:21 EST and me and me! I started here march 2010 at 291 ( I actually found out later my highest weight was 304). I lost 50 pounds the first year and I was so thrilled. Then I lost 20 the next year and have gradually put back k o. About 15 pounds. I am here every day. I walk most days with my hubby and beloved dog, stitch. I have never given up since I joined and I never will. I want to lose 50 more pounds.

I changed my ticker a month ago because I feel like I need to focus on NOW and not the success I ha... Tue, 16 Oct 2012 22:42:34 EST And about me! I used to be 323lbs.

At my lowest I got myself down to 140lbs, I had surgery to fix the vast amounts of skin on my arms and to reshape my breasts... this was also a cause of my current downfall, without the "hoop" of being the right BMI to qualify for my surgery on the NHS... and the far longer than anticipated recovery from this...

well, I have gained about 40lbs again.

I am getting married next year, and I do NOT want to be a fat bride, but I am really stru... Tue, 16 Oct 2012 16:19:13 EST About Me! Hey Guys,

Since you are all MY Sparkfriends, I feel like this post might be a little unnecessary, but at the same time, good for documentation.
