Mon, 11 Oct 2010 17:43:36 EST Newbie Ringing in! http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=-1x570x35818417 Hello Team! I'm Kimberly, 33 and a Theatre Arts Major at CSUSB! I lost 14 pounds to take on the role of Evillene in "The Wiz" and shortly after the musical I gained 11 pounds. ARG! At my heaviest I was Sister Mary Hubert in Nunsense over at SBVC and lost 20 pounds. This is what led me to Sparkpeople. I am now here shaving the pounds away which will not only help my health but, it will broaden the spectrum on types of roles I can audition for. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE ON THEIR SPARK JOURNEY! I started acting when I was 5 years old in school plays, and really started to find out that it was one of the few things I could do when I was in the 8th grade.

The majority of my stage work has been in community theatre, and at the ripe old age of 39 I've just started branching out into professional theatre and movies. My music teacher had mentioned MAC as the brand she uses because she'd also had issues with BN, and I wondered if anyone else has a favorite that's good not just as stage makeup, but also good (or at least not bad) for your skin. I can remember the sounds of anguish and pain in the class as everyone thought "TEN MINUTES!!! I'll never be able to perform a TEN MINUTE monologue!"
By senior year, each of us were scrambling to SHORTEN our monologues in order that they wouldn't be MORE than ten minutes.

I thought about this today as I ... So I thought I would post, and wish you all Happy Holidays. I know it is very hard during this time of year to stick to a healthy nutrition plan, but you can do it, if you want it! I cannot say that I am going to be 100% fully committed to sparks, but at least in my mind I know that just because the food is there, does not mean that I have to eat it. I try to keep that in mind lol.

Blessings to all... Sun, 15 Oct 2006 03:59:52 EST Does rehearsal = exercize? http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=0x570x3483852 I realized, coming home from tonight's four-hour rehearsal, that I was exhausted! You guys know how it can be -- running the same scene 40 times in a row and doing probably a hundred laps around the stage in the course of the night.

I know that *dance* counts as exercize, but this wasn't a dance rehearsal. Still, I'm sure it has to count for something. Does anyone have any estimates of how many calories an hour of active rehearsal might burn?
