SparkPeople 2014 Disney Marathon Weekend Team Messageboard When will you start your training for 2014? I cannot believe it is almost time to start thinking about training~ <BR> I will be following Galloway's Training plan for the Dopey, which starts July 2. I may start a week or 2 early, to account for possible missed runs. I didn't do this last year, and I missed a couple really long runs, so I don't want that to happen this year! <BR> I also plan to walk the 5K and possible the 10K. <BR> What are your plans? Mon, 14 Jan 2013 17:22:00 EST Goofy strategy Has anyone completed the Goofy challenge before? I was trying to figure out pacing for the two races. I wasn't sure if I should slow down for the half marathon or just run it at my normal pace and plan to run the marathon slower the next day. Mon, 3 Dec 2012 16:03:13 EST Bowing Out..... I have come to the realization that I am NOT going to be able to run the Marathon this year...not even just starting out and letting myself get swept.... Along with the IT band issue in the hip, it now appears I either have a stress fracture in my heel or a case of Plantar faciatis--- in any event, I cannot even walk around the block without pain, much less 26.2..... What is your longest training run so far? <BR> I have finished 17 miles as my longest, I walked 2, ran 13, walked 2. I have one more Half and then I will be totally focused on my long runs! Check out the new's beautiful....Makes me want to go out and hit thepavement for a training walk-- only it's Phoenix and 90 degrees at 6am, so its off to the community center for some treadmill.....but i'm sloooowly coming back after a bout of "something" and am on new inhaler meds so i'll take it easy again today-- got the Disneyland Half in just over 2 weeks and need to get some mileage in for that one first.,,,,,,BUT the new medal!
