As stated in the heading, I recnetly had my surgery (gastric sleeve) and I'm now on the mend. It has been a little rough so I've been taking it easy. Glad to say thet after 5 days I'm finally feeling a little better. The hardest thing is keeping up with the amount of liquids & protien I'm supposed to consume. Since my stomach is SO tiny now it is frankly impossible to get all that they say but over time I know I will be able to improve. I will be having Roux N Y on 14 August at the U of Iowa. Will be starting my liquid/pureed diet on Wednesday. I have to admit I am more nervous about that than the surgery. Wish me luck please Mon, 30 Jul 2012 10:51:39 EST Less than 1 week away! http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=-1x55201x49171362 I am having the gastric sleev done on Wednesday 08/01/12. I am currently on my liquid protien diet and will have my IVC filter placed tomorrow. I have about 100 lb. to lose. I have been contemplating this for 8 years. In those 8 years I have lost and re-gained about 60 lb. I am releived to finally be getting this over with, but also anxious about the potential complications. I worked at a bariatricians office so I know all the possible complications. I have seen people be very successful, but... Thu, 26 Jul 2012 18:32:00 EST Hi!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=-1x55201x49107747 I was referred to the Bariatric Clinic in my area back in 2010 so it's been a long process. The Post OP Diet Class is scheduled for August 14th so I'm hoping to have the RNY done before the end of the year. The support group I belong to has been suspended just for the summer and will start again in September. The good thing is that we still keep in contact through email. I agree that this is a personal decision and a lot of people, (mostly my family) feel I shouldn't have it. My husband c... I had Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass Surgery on June 22, 2004. My top weight was approximately 299.5 lbs, although it might have been higher before I decided to see a surgeon about WLS. Initially I lost 134.5 lbs, but then regained 76 lbs. I recently got back on track and have lost around 14 lbs. I have discussed with my new Bariatric dr/surgeon the possibility of having a Band Over Bypass, but I am hoping I won't have to do that. One of the reasons I believe I had my...
