How has your summer been?

I didn't lose any weight 39 in fact I gained, but with being unemployed and working on my wedding, I didn't have much time for anything else. and chose to direct my attention not to lose weight. I hope everyone else was able to fair better.

Now that I am married I can shift focus Tue, 2 Sep 2014 20:03:30 EST Tops Are any of you guys familiar with Tops? My mom joined it and likes it, so I'm going to give it a try. Along with SP. I hope something works.

Tops is an annual fee paid 1x but it's actually reasonable Sun, 8 Jun 2014 21:33:20 EST Spring is Finally Here (Almost) Those 60 degrees yesterday were a welcome relief. I know they say more snow is possible this week is progress.

I know things have been very slow here at The Sparking In Plymouth team. Perhaps it will pick up with the warmer weather. Or maybe we'll just move on.

I have been battling a lower abdominal strain (although the doctors have a tough time confirming the diagnosis. Had to cut WAY back on my workout routines. Hoping soon I can begin to slowly increa... Mon, 31 Mar 2014 14:16:22 EST Happy New Year Happy 2014.

Anyone have any good healthy goals they are going to work on this year?

I have to figure something out. My Dr is a bit concerned about my weight gain. Possibly the meds he thinks. Because since I was put on them it was a gain that seemed to just gradully get there. I'm not happy about my gain, but what can we do. with my pending marriage he doesn't want to shock my system and throw my anxiety and depression in a tail spin. Plus I like being able to ... Thu, 2 Jan 2014 18:46:18 EST A bit AWOL I've been AWOL! I apologize. So much happening.

First I am getting married so that is one thing taking up my time.

2nd I'm working like 50 hours a wk and I HATE it. I am so tired I can't get time to do anything but gain weight. ( That has to change)

So I'm hopefully back and back for good. Tue, 22 Oct 2013 19:40:07 EST Call me crazy So, yesterday, I decided I was going to run my first 5k Yes I know that sounds crazy for someone who has never been able to run in her entire life. Seriously it always took almost 15-20 minutes to run a mile. growing up in Elm school. I joined the 5k rookie program here on sp. It most likely is simular to c25k programs so I should be ok. Thu, 1 Aug 2013 20:24:32 EST Setting a new goal. Had my annual physical with the doc and he said I could lose a few pounds. I don't look overweight but......I do want to be at a healthy weight so I'm setting a new goal to drop about 8 pounds from today (my weight does fluctuate over a four pound range - so that's a challenge. I'll need to lose between 6 and 10 pounds) by my birthday in mid-September.

Thanks for listening. 41 Wed, 31 Jul 2013 11:15:15 EST I only hear crickets Been very quiet in the team as of late. Not that I have contributed to the lively discussion. Just sayin.

My new little put has been keeping me busy. She's a handful and gives me lots of exercise. She's now 4 months old and close to 40 pounds.

Hope everyone is having a great summer. Thu, 11 Jul 2013 09:52:14 EST Anyone up for a walk date? I'm substitute teaching during the day, but mid-afternoons I'm free...I'm so bored of being inside. I'd love to meet someone for a walk and then get coffee or something! Mon, 8 Apr 2013 15:27:31 EST Spring Spring is trying to make it's way to us. Today is beautiful except the last lingering dirty snow, and brown grass, but the sky is blue, the sun is out, and it's warmer today than all week.

I'm itching to get outside, but I know it's wet, and muddy out and I'd rather not get dirty. I have my bird feeders out, and I'm happy that they are being used and even though the birds that are using it have been all winter it still feels like it's a spring thing.

I personally nee... Thu, 4 Apr 2013 14:34:18 EST Snow Day! I got up and drove to school today and then found out there wasn't any (Eden Prairie)! So I looked up some healthy "splurge" recipes online and spent the day drinking tea and listening to MPR online :)

For the curious, I had chocolate "mousse" made with silken tofu -- I COULD NOT taste the tofu, and it was amazing! From
The only change I made was to make it with chocolate extract instead of vanilla. Yes, I'm a foodie. 30 Tue, 5 Mar 2013 16:20:01 EST NPR is so informative Spring is almost here. Almost for probably most of the country, here you just never know.

Yesterday, on NPR they were discussing, how we could have spring flooding, but we're still in a drought. I found that funny, but it makes sense, we had so much rain, that just froze on the ground instead of soaking in, and now with all the snow parts of the state got, it will melt and go in the rivers and flood. either way, It reminded me of how it's like people, and exercise. At times, n... Sat, 2 Mar 2013 08:51:15 EST running 366
Katie and I are each planning to run a half marathon this spring. I just found this resource online (I'm vegetarian) for a half-marathon planning/training guide. I thought you all might like to check it out; even if you're not veggie, the training thing could help!!

on-roadmap/

I just ran my first 5K since T'giving (between injury and COLD) last night in the SNOW! 30 312 364</... Becky (ASLANSCUB) got me out Saturday evening to attempt rock climbing and I must say I had a blast!!

I have a fear of heights and my once only experience with this before was not a good one. When I got the invite I even asked if she meant it for me because I don't do this lol. I am so glad I took her up on this and look forward to going again.

This has encouraged me to get out and try new things and put fear aside. Like she said we did better then her friends who... Mon, 4 Feb 2013 07:08:44 EST Freezing Lately it's been so cold, even doing outdoor exercise is a NO GO! What are you all doing to keep warm, and stay exercising? Fri, 1 Feb 2013 07:38:09 EST Cruising Can Be Dangerous to Your Health Just returned from a 14 day cruise through the Panama Canal. It was a wonderful experience. If you've ever been on a cruise then you know there is LOTS of food. However, I took Zumba Classes (first experience with this) on 7 of the 14 days. Also took the stairs 98% of the time and did lots of walking. I call it a success that I only gained 2 pounds.

Anyway, back to reality and these cold temperatures. It was 90+ in Panama, and surrounding countries.

Anyway, jus... Fri, 25 Jan 2013 15:17:27 EST just to say hello I'm new to this team and am excited to see a team near me. I'm not a member, but I got $10 off for signing up through REI. I thought, since I've improved my running time, I would sign up for a real race. Anyone signed up or might sign up? I'd love to meet some of you and run together! Mon, 12 Nov 2012 14:26:39 EST Fitbit I'm sure if you all have been checking out the site, you have noticed that Sparkpeople and fitbit have teamed up.

I've been using a fitbit since March. For me this is an amazing pedometer and all I have to do is remember to wear it. Now all I have to do is check to see if my fitbit synced with Sparkpeople or just click a link to push the info to them. I have found, that my minutes here on sp have gone up tremendously because now I don't have to do it manually, and after a... Thu, 2 Aug 2012 09:59:07 EST Check in How is everyone doing?

I'm still losing weight but I haven't been able to do much of the whole exercise deal lately. I need to get back in that swing of things. Sun, 20 May 2012 10:53:01 EST How is everyone on the team doing? Hi Everybody!

I ate really well and got my blood sugar down and that gave me an excuse to eat some foods that spiked my blood sugar again! I really do get whacky thinking sometimes. I hate admitting my weakness, but frankly, one does not get to weigh over 300 pounds without some form of trouble! The different thing for me is that I am willing to tell everyone and to forgive myself and move on and keep going. That gives me hope that I really am making a lifestyle change and that... Tue, 10 Apr 2012 11:22:39 EST My second job I've struggled on and off for 2 years and Since I joined a gym at the end of Dec last year, I've lost a total of 12 lbs, and been using the spark people cook book more diligently tracking and I when I hit 10 lbs (last week actually 11) I bought myself a fit bit and I've been doing wonders.
