I am blessed to be in remission, but need to lose weight to help with reducing the chances of it coming back. I have no endocrine systems that work. I have autoantibodies to my thyroid which make my thyroid meds inactive and autoantibodies to insulin which makes it hard to control my sugar. In 2008 my world fell apart. In August I had a stroke, in September I had a heart attack, in October I had my first grand maul seizure and in November I had my second grand maul. That time I had a total of 8 seizures in an 8 hour period. I started taking meds for the seizures. I continued to have petite maul seizures on an almost daily basis. I'm not doing too well with weight-loss, even though I'm sticking to the diet and exercise plan that Spark gave me. I'm wondering if, due to my inability to walk, I may in fact be even more sedentary than the average sedentary person Spark had in mind when calculating my calorie range? And therefore need to drop it a bit? I won't really be able to get all the protein and fiber SP says I should be getting if I do that, but maybe it won't be so bad if I stay as close to those ranges as I can? I have found excises that I can do sitting it works around my broken foot and ankle I have been doing them for a week now it seems to do pretty good, It looks like it will July for my first operation on my ankle. It will be in a cast for 6-10 weeks with no pressure on it. than another cast for 6-8 weeks more. Than I go back in and get the second operation done and do the cast thing all over again, It will be almost a year before the foot is even ready to ... My concern is that I would be disqualified because I do have some upper-extremity involvement as well. And I came across a small problem! I can't seem to figure out the side plank exercises. I've tried everything but standing on my head to try to figure it out.
