Are you glad you joined? Have you made new friends? Share your story! Wed, 11 Jul 2012 13:07:46 EST Trying to get started I find that I'm far to busy for myself and have difficulty getting started. When I get home from work I just want to relax and do nothing, which obviously is not working. So I look forward to your encouragement as I am determined dropping pounds and inches each month to reach my goal. Wed, 4 Jul 2012 10:24:57 EST How are you doing team? As of today, It has been nearly eleven months since you joined SparkPeople. How is everyone doing? Are you doing well tracking your food and fitness minutes? Do you have any questions or suggestions for others? Fri, 8 Jun 2012 08:03:04 EST What other teams have you joined? By now you've probably found lots of other teams you enjoy. Tell us which one(s) are your favorites and why. I enjoyed Mixed Mutt dog house because I enjoy chatting with other people who have lovable mixed breed dogs. I also joined a C25K team and my local team. Sat, 24 Mar 2012 21:02:43 EST Tracking your food? - Paper or computer? Do you track your food intake regularly? If so, do you use the tracker on Sparkpeople or elsewhere? Or do you track in a notebook or some other way? How do you stay motivated to track? I'd love to hear what's working for everyone as this is an area where I struggle mightily and I think others do too! Wed, 7 Mar 2012 08:49:43 EST Are you going to make a New Year's resolution? If so, what are some of your goals for the new year? Wed, 28 Dec 2011 10:01:09 EST What are your plans for Labor Day weekend? My plans to are get some things done around the house and yard! Wed, 31 Aug 2011 08:21:54 EST Hi from Texas I joined sparkpeople in July just after I moved to Texas, and have found so much great information! I was having a slow start, sprained my ankle, had to unpack, you know ... the standard reasons for not taking care of myself. But this month I turned 60 and decided to join a gym. I figure if I'm putting out money for it, I'll use it. Hope that works cuz I have about 40+ pounds to loose.

I am also a cooking show junkie and I'm wondering if you can gain weight watching 30 minute mea... Fri, 26 Aug 2011 14:44:40 EST How are you doing at tracking your food? I hate to admit it, but I really have a hard time consistently tracking my food. Do you track? On-line or on paper? I think it's really an important tool for losing weight, but I think I need some motivation. How about you? Thu, 25 Aug 2011 17:29:46 EST Going on Vacation...Need Suggestions!! I am going on vacation tomorrow through Wednesday. Two days we will be at an amusement park and the other days we have a lot of outdoor activities planned. The hotel we are staying at has a "stay fit kit" you can use in your room as well as a fitness center - so b/t all the walking around we'll be doing, the kit, and the fitness center, I think I'll be okay activity-wise. I am more concerned about eating-wise. How do make sure you are staying within your ranges while on vacation? Any tip... Fri, 12 Aug 2011 12:03:38 EST Genevieve from Texas here... I've been using the SparkPeople website for about a month now, but did not have the courage to introduce myself until now....
I've struggled with my weight since my early 20s. Before then, I was really active so although I would probably have been classified as overweight, I was a far cry from obese, or morbidly obese (as I am now).
With my 30th birthday looming (okay, a year and a half is not exactly looming, but it certainly feels that way), I know that I don't want to spend anot... Tue, 9 Aug 2011 21:21:45 EST Week #4 Hello Everyone!

Happy Sunday! Now that we are about 4 weeks in, how is everyone doing? I noticed some areas I needed to adjust but I feel like I am on the right track.

Sun, 7 Aug 2011 17:55:13 EST I pray I am finally ready Hi, my name is Christie and I am a mother of 2 daughters, wife and teacher by profession. I am a 11 year breast cancer survivor and I have had the struggle of my life trying to lose 30 pounds this summer. Since I only lost 8 pounds in 3 months, I became discouraged and now my goal is 20 pounds. I am so upset because I just cannot seem to lose weight. I have cut calories and portion sizes, I have exercised, taken care of myself and nothing is seemingly working. I going to give it another try a... Fri, 5 Aug 2011 20:38:36 EST Weekly Challenge beginning July 31, 2011 Hello everyone,

Happy Sunday. You guys are doing great with your goals! I would like to introduce a little friendly challenge. It sometimes is little boring eating "healthy", or the same type of food. Sometimes we get a little bored and tend to drift away from our goals with the same celery and carrot sticks, and baked chicken breast. Healthy eating is eating in moderation long with a colorful array of fruits and vegetables. This week's challenge is to try a new recipe fo... Sun, 31 Jul 2011 14:42:22 EST Pass it along - team member fun Visit a SP Class of July 10-16, 2011 team member's page, list their spark name, and share something interesting you learned about them. Not sure whose page to visit? Consider visiting the page of someone who has posted a blog or has huddled (see the right side of the screen and click on their name), or just visit the page of the person who posted just before you.

I visited Sarcasticsun's page. He's starting college in the fall!

Keep it going! Tue, 26 Jul 2011 12:56:09 EST Hello AGAIN Hi all, This is my third time using sp. Each time I assume a different user name, humiliated because of failure. Anyway, I am very serious about it this time. I am very inspired by my 17 year old daughter who has lost about 40 pounds over the last year. I have been thinking seriously about gastric bypass surgery, but am scared to do it. My daughter doesn't want me to do it. She is afraid of losing me and of what would happen to her as I am a single mom. I dont want to make my introduct... Tue, 26 Jul 2011 10:42:33 EST Second time for me, too! I love SP. I did so well, last time, that I fell off the wagon. Forgot about that healthy lifestyle part and went back to old bad habits. No more. I'm back to stay and plan to reach my goal this time, and change my life for the better in the process. I like SP for tracking calories; it helps me think about what I'm eating. And the walking will help me and my chubby little dog, too. Sat, 23 Jul 2011 21:26:27 EST How do you Avoid Losing Control? After a very long, exhausting day yesterday I pretty much binge ate all evening until I went to bed. It felt as if I had been controlling myself all week and I just couldn't do it any more. I was anxious and nothing but food was going to calm myself. It worked and I relaxed. Any ideas how to avoid this loss of control in the future? Sat, 23 Jul 2011 17:18:53 EST Hi Hi everyone!
I'm 28 and a mother of 1. I'm a stress-eater and I started to gain weight while planning for my wedding 2 yrs ago. I'm from Singapore, a food paradise, where eating can be said to be a lifestyle. Struggling very hard to discipline myself especially when I'm surrounded by all the rich and delicious food.. Hope I can get motivation from you guys!! 30 Thu, 21 Jul 2011 22:01:12 EST Your biggest challenge this week? What is your biggest challenge to eating right and exercising this week? For me, it's the heat. It has been so hot and humid, and today the heat index is expected to be 110 degrees! Even though I can exercise at my fitness center, the air-conditioning there has problems and it's still pretty balmy inside, especially after a couple of minutes on the treadmill. I'm still going, though, even though I can't stand to stay on the treadmill as long as usual. Something is better than nothing, rig... Wed, 20 Jul 2011 07:54:03 EST Happy to be feeling the Spark! I am so excited to have been introduced to this website by a coworker! This seems to be exactly the motivator and tracking tool I need to reach my health and fitness goals.

I am a registered dietitian at a hospital where I get free breakfast and lunch which sounded like an awesome job perk when I started. However, I've gained 10-15 pounds in less than a year! On the bright side, over the course of that year I have learned to enjoy a fitness routine. I absolutely couldn't stand ... We didn't gain the weight overnight, we most certainly will not lose the weight overnight. The key to long lasting results is a change of attitude and habits. Taking small baby steps will change us for the better and give us the momentum needed to make this happen. We will have some good days and bad days. The following link is an article I read today that confirms this... Wed, 13 Jul 2011 19:39:15 EST Hello! Wed, 13 Jul 2011 15:05:59 EST There are two "me's". I want the skinny one... Seriously. Mon, 11 Jul 2011 21:59:31 EST New to weight loss Hi. I am needing to lose a lot of weight I gained over the course of the last ten years.
