I have finally gotten back into running. I am finishing my second week of the Jeff Galloway easy 5K this week. So far I am liking it much better than I did the C25K. I never felt ready to move on to my next intervals and was always winded and in pain. With this one I haven't felt that way and I am getting faster. I trained more to walk since my arthritis was acting up in the cold. But, I ran some too. I actually ran in intervals from mile 2 through 5. At mile 5, I saw my coach who told me if I could feel my knee I needed to take it easier since I haven't been training to run. So, I walked the rest of the way at a better than 15 min/mile pace. I was planning on doing Team Challenge for Crohn's and Colitis Foundation, but then found out I would have to raise a lot more money than I thought I would have to...something that I don't think I'm going to be able to do. I have run in 3 other races in the past 5 years. My first one was a 5k. I then did a 2mile race with my cousin and November 2009 I ran a the big Thanksgiving Day race. It was almost 5 miles.That was pretty big for me. I finished it beating my goal that I wanted to finish by. Health issues came and I couldn't run this year or do the 1/2 marathon. I guess not necessarily the size but how they fit. If my "fat jeans", you know the ones that are one size up from your "normal size", are getting too tight then I tend to go into a downward spiral of "crap how did I let this happen". Luckily now I feel a lot more in control of my healthy habits than I have for awhile so I just go for a run, to yoga, or the gym to get my self esteem back to normal.
