If you want more info please go to SparkPeople Warrior Dash Team Messageboard Warrior Dashers - new group Hey there!

Looks like there is a group that is setup for general Warrior Dash discussions. It's under the name "Warrior Dashers". Please join up and continue the Warrior Dash conversations and tell us all about your previous and upcoming events. :) Tue, 31 Jan 2012 13:31:12 EST Warrior in training. Hello there!

A bunch of my friends have signed up for the Warrior Dash in VA on September 29th and I've decided to give it a shot. I've always wanted to do something like Warrior Dash and what better time than now?

Fitness level: I wouldn't say I'm at rock bottom, but I'm pretty darn close. I go to Kung Fu classes for 60 minutes three nights a week. My strength is getting a little better thanks to knuckle push ups, but my cardio is still lacking quite a bit. My goal is ... Wed, 25 Jan 2012 14:32:16 EST Group still active? Is this group still active for 2012? I'm excited about my first Warrior Dash in September (actually my first race ever) and wanted to have a place to share my training experiences and ask questions and lend support. Anyone? :)

Wed, 25 Jan 2012 14:04:21 EST How Sore Were You? For those who have already taken part in the Warrior Dash, how sore were you the next day? I am doing the Dash on October 1st, and we have some friends who want to go hiking on October 2nd. I don't expect the hiking to be very strenuous or fast paced, but am I crazy for thinking I can do both back to back? Thanks for any advice/input! My WD is this saturday!! I am so excited!!!!!! Mon, 15 Aug 2011 10:31:24 EST Indiana Warrior Dash. Anyone in the 2:00 wave that needs a running buddy? Mine backed out, and I think it'd be much more fun to do with someone, though I hear you do make friends along the way! :) Mon, 8 Aug 2011 18:10:34 EST Pictures? Hi All -
Just wondering from everyone who's finished their races, how long did it take for the pictures to go up on the Sport Photo site?

Thanks!! Mon, 8 Aug 2011 14:10:19 EST Nervous My WD is in 24 days. I am SO nervous!! Thu, 28 Jul 2011 10:18:29 EST Recommendation to Warriors! Hey everyone!

I wanted to give some information that I learned from my Dash to help anyone preparing for theirs.

Things to bring:
COMPLETE change of clothes - underwear, bra, top, bottom. Make sure you don't *love* these clothes cuz even if you wipe everything down really well before you put them on, they will still get a bit muddy.

flip flops or sandals-after your race, your socks and shoes will be saturated. Plus, the grounds stay muddy, so I recommen... Sun, 24 Jul 2011 18:53:56 EST Gloves To wear them or not to wear them??? Tue, 28 Jun 2011 09:51:37 EST What was your WD time?! Hey everyone - my dash is coming up this your finishing time! Tue, 21 Jun 2011 15:05:08 EST What to do with your keys? I'm going to try to get my husband to go or I might be driving to the event with some co-workers. In that case I have a place to stash my mandatory ID and what not. But what do you guys do if you go to a warrior dash alone? When I go running I wear my car key on a necklace around my neck, but wouldn't feel safe doing that at WD. Sun, 19 Jun 2011 20:17:50 EST Newbie Warrior Hi Everyone :)
I just joined this team - Hubby and I on a whim decided to do the Warrior Dash this summer - Whistler BC!
I'm pretty nervous about it, but I figure I have about 6 weeks to train for it (Aug 6th). From what I hear, it's more about mental strength and stubbornness to finish than it is about skill and fitness lever.
Stubbornness I have. Running endurance and upper body strength......well, I have some time to work on those!
Anyone else running in Whistler? An... Fri, 17 Jun 2011 14:16:49 EST How long does it take to complete? Does anyone know roughly how long it takes to complete the course? Even a range of times would be helpful! I really want to participate in the one in St. Louis but have a friend's wedding that I'm trying to figure out if I'd have enough time for it if I did it during one of the early time slots. Thanks! Thu, 9 Jun 2011 10:25:40 EST Anyone running the Warrior Dash in NC? I'm running the Warrior Dash for the first time in August in NC. I'm pretty excited but also very nervous about. Hopefully if I train properly I will be ready for it by August! Tue, 7 Jun 2011 11:18:24 EST What will you wear? Okay, so I know that mud is mandatory, so old clothes or clothes you don't care ruining (& shoes!) are a must, but what are you going to wear other than that? I'm in one in July which means that the temps could be anywhere from 50 to 90. With some of the obstacles, I'm worried about wearing shorts (Not sure how I feel about a short, panties AND mud wedgie). But pants full of mud are just that much heavier, but they'd protect me from some of the scratchier stuff (like the haybales) - and fr... Thu, 2 Jun 2011 11:19:45 EST Charitable Event? I was just wondering if anyone knows if the Warrior Dash benefits any charities? I am doing the Tough Mudder and it benefits the Wounded Warrior project so I was hoping to do the Warrior Dash if the proceeds go to something. Thu, 2 Jun 2011 09:37:45 EST Why are you running the warrior dash? Hi-I am wondering why people have signed up for this race. It is not your everyday fun run or 5K.

I signed up for the WD to give me something to work towards fitness wise. I also joined it to regain by belief in myself that I can do anything I put my mind too. That my body is strong and I am in control.

What about you? Wed, 1 Jun 2011 14:24:28 EST Toughest obstacles and how to train? I see the pictures of cargo nets, mud crawling, and giant walls. What was the toughest obstacle for running geeks with lots of endurance and lower body power but kind of puny arms?

Having no cargo nets to hand, how would you suggest training for something like that? I've been climbing all over the monkey bars at the local parks. Mon, 16 May 2011 10:12:26 EST Dash of the Rockies Anyone doing the Rockies Dash? I am doing it with 9 friends and we have more friends cheering us on the sidelines!!! Mon, 28 Mar 2011 16:25:03 EST WD2011 Training! What are you all doing for training?

I signed up for the dash yesterday, and got about 5 friends to sign up too - and I even made shirts for my friends and me to get on! Feel free to take a look (!

I plan to start my training today - 3.5 miles, fairly flat with one steep hill and one gradual hill around my house. I will be doing hill sprints later in my training, and then probably hitting the indoor rock climbing gym near... Tue, 15 Mar 2011 09:59:54 EST Which Warrior are you running? Hey all just thought I'd ask!

I'm running the Rocky Mountain one on August 20.

Any training tips for those of you who have completed it?

Sun, 6 Mar 2011 11:57:36 EST Hi Warriors! I am running crawling the Dash in Ohio in June and in Michigan in July. Can't wait!! Mon, 24 Jan 2011 06:25:17 EST
