I have been taking it for the past 1 1/2 years and just recently told the Doctor I wanted to try without it. I have slowly weaned off of it and now I am in so much pain. I do not like medication!! For years I let fatigue and joint keep me from being more active. Now I have a lot of extra weight from sitting on my rear too much, that just makes my joints hurt worse. I've tried dieting in the past, I usually lost 10 lbs before I stop losing. This time, I want to reach my goal :-) Fri, 6 Dec 2013 18:30:28 EST New here http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=-1x4663x55861723 I am just joining you in this forum. I never post on message boards but am close to my wit's end. Did any of you develop arthritis when you entered menopause? I have been healthy and active all of my life, never more than 20 lbs overweight, and now, at age 51, all of a sudden my joints are aching (mainly hips and shoulders) and I am having trouble sleeping due to pain. I'm 24 with arthritis, most of the pain is in my hip on my left side-but rainy days I have issues with my knees, lower back, and right ankle, and I know that losing weight will help me ease pain and help me get off some of my medications (hopefully!). I know that a pool and a personal trainer are the best ways to get my achy body in motion but I'm also a graduate student, so I do not have the funds for that at the moment. I've tried alcohol wipes to get the stuff off, but they don't work very well. I can't imagine I'm the only person in this predicament, but I haven't been able to find any info on the web. ... Popcorn is OK by itself but somehow it’s not the same if it’s the microwave variety and definitely not the same without butter – lots of butter. So yesterday I cheated. My calorie count for the day stayed re... Sun, 24 Feb 2013 09:02:54 EST Hi http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=-1x4663x52217417 I'm new to this team. I am 20 years old and was diagnosed with RA in 2002 (9 years old) I have been dealing with frequent pain ever since. At first I was able to exercise through competitive swimming but my lungs collapsed from the chemicals and I was not able to do that anymore. Am so happy to be on this side of it; recovery is going very well. Completed in-home PT; starting 8 weeks of PT at the clinic on Monday. Went into the procedure with extra lbs. which I am determined to lose as I become more active. Spending today setting up my eating plan and tracking on Spark. So glad I found the site last week. Being able to take my dog for a 2 mile walk is something I missed so much. Is this just a glitch and just me seeing (or in this case NOT seeing) the members, or is it normally like this. I'll be looking for ways to lessen my discomfort. Sun, 10 Apr 2011 09:47:37 EST Saying hello http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messageboard_thread.asp?board=0x4663x40854956 Hi there. I recently had surgery on my shoulder for what we thought was a rotator cuff injury. Afterward, my surgeon told me that I have arthritis and that it was totally unexpected. <BR> <BR> Now I'm adjusting to this news and what I can do to get back my fitness and move forward with this. <BR> <BR> Does anyone else have arthritis in their shoulder(s)? I've been doing some reading on this, but most of the articles and books are geared toward knees and hips. I had shared with you about my friend's 12 year old grandson death, then got an e-mail later in the day about the death of the husband of one of my book club friends. He had been diagnosed in January with pancreatic cancer. Then last night another friend called about the shooting in St. Louis, MO. The officer that was killed was her sister-in-law's son. We need to love those around us and be thankful for every moment we have with them.
