Wed, 23 Sep 2009 12:46:06 EST Eating well as a vegetarian My boyfriend and I are going to cut back on eating meat, and to start, we are going vegetarian two days a week. I'd like to come up with some high protein meals to try (rather than relying on meatless pasta dishes those two days). Any suggestions/recipes? We are not too picky except I don't really like seafood. I had a delicious lentil salad a few months back at a Mediterranean restaurant that I'd like to replicate, so even if the meal is a little exotic, I'm okay with that. Mon, 2 Jun 2008 10:00:25 EST Working Full time & finding time to exercise Jana, is getting ready to start working outside of the home again & wanted suggestions as to how to get in exercise while maintaining the house & working a full time job. Everyone, please put on your thinking cap and give her some suggestions that might make this easier on her. Fri, 30 May 2008 08:34:10 EST New "Say one nice thing about yourself" Paula this was such a great idea and we haven't done it for awhile so I thought we should start up a new one and do it again. Positive thoughts are a great thing!

My one thing today: I have been getting up at normal "school day" time everyday this summer so far! That is my one goal...not to sleep away my summer! It is hard and sometimes I would rather just sleep in but I haven't.

102 Wed, 28 May 2008 08:19:55 EST I can't believe when I spun the wheel today.... I actually won a free keychain!!! That is so cool. I had to give them my address and I will get my SP keychain in 3-4 weeks. Wahoo! That is really neat. Just wanted to share. It's a long hike & I'm estimating about 5 hours without kids.

Anyone up for it? Tue, 27 May 2008 13:23:42 EST NEW CHALLENGE FROM FRANKCARE, SMILE! I don't know how many of you have a pedometer but I have one and I have become very obessed with it. I am trying my best to get a minimum of 10,000 steps a day. I read in a book that women generally get only 5,700 a day and so if we double that just think how much easier it would be to lose this weight. I have been serious about this since Tuesday this week. So, I was thinking it would be very encouraging to have anyone join me and log their steps everyday here on SP to support each other... Sun, 25 May 2008 07:11:09 EST Goal Tracking! So I've always been a fan of video games, hence the wide back end I have. Anyway, today Nintendo released the Wii Fit! Holy CRUD! it's HARD! First, it tells me I'm fat (duh!) No, the board didn't ACTUALLY groan under my weight, but if it could be programmed that way, I'm sure it would! Anyway, there's yoga, strength training, aerobic exercise, and balance exercises. For each minute you do, you get a point. After so many points, new exercises and games are available. There's a track on... Wed, 21 May 2008 22:14:02 EST Am I as good as new? Okay, I feel silly. I have on a ankle/foot wrap on my left foot, I have new heel/arch supports in my shoes and I have a knee brace on my right leg for Osgood-Schlatter's Disease. I look like I'm falling apart...but I feel great inside!! LOL! The foot should heel up good, I need to not wear flip-flops so long. And the knee, well I grew up with that problem but it only gives me trouble when I run, so 5K training is causing it to act up again. I think I can keep it in control as long as I rest i... I'd love to go Mon, 19 May 2008 16:57:03 EST A bad, bad week. Well all, I haven't been around much but don't think I've forgotten you! Tuesday night my boyfriend (of 8 years) and I called it quits. I've lost weight, but only because I didn't eat for three days. Then, of course, I had fettucini from Noodles last night. Fortunately, my tummy has learned to dislike those fatty foods.

I haven't exercised, but I've probably cried out about a pound of tears. I hope everyone enjoys time spent with their loved ones.
Today Mike has "dibs" on me for the morning & afternoon. I have no clue what he has up his sleeves. He's a sneaky one. I haven;t even tried to figure it out! I know I could con the kids into telling me if I really wanted to find out but then it would ruin the fun of it all. I'm excited! :) Sun, 11 May 2008 00:42:53 EST Motivating family members? Okay so tonight after I did my Walk Away the Pounds and then the lower body workout by Coach Nicole for the swimsuit bootcamp, I asked my boyfriend if he was going to get on the treadmill. He got all huffy and went outside. He says it makes him tired. Anyone have any recommendations for motivating family members? I KNOW I can do this, but I need his support...he IS the one that cooks for me after all! Thoughts and ideas are appreciated! Thanks! Thu, 8 May 2008 22:09:31 EST June Stamp/Scrap June 6 & 7! I am relatively new to this beautiful area, and would like to know what y'all do for fun and fitness that involves the great outdoors. I would rather NOT walk in the malls, etc. when I can walk through the woods!! There is so much natural beauty here, I figure I can get a geography lesson at the same time that I exercise. I need something family friendly to include my 3- and 9-year-old daughters, plus my happy (but chubby) hubby. 211 Thu, 1 May 2008 18:53:24 EST First time ever....spun the wheel and got 25 points!!!! Sun, 20 Apr 2008 18:42:22 EST Extremely busy week this week, so I won't be here much. I'll try to check in once a day, but that may not happen. Saturday was the official start of mowing season for me. I knew I had been lazy this winter but I didn't realize how lazy until I had to weed eat, edge and use the push lawnmower. I had to buy a new push mower so I opted for the one that is not self propelled. We only use it on 5 yards and the hill at the church. It does make a big difference. Instead of just walking behind it and directing it I actually have to push it. This will help with getting in my exercise. Yeah it makes the jobs a lit... Sat, 29 Mar 2008 18:23:14 EST Starting up (again ..This is not a new thing..) Ok so I have been off of the wagon or on strike (as I have put it from time to time) with exercise and healthy eating. Why? I don;t know I seem to go thru phases of why do it and why not do it and all of the normal things that go with it. Today after breakfast I decided I would get back on track with things. Last night I prepped alot of meals. Tonight I plan on freezing some protein portions for snacks. I'm throwing the rest of the diet coke down the drain. I finished off the white chocolate... Fri, 22 Feb 2008 11:54:34 EST Daily random thoughts ~ Introspective glances Why is it always so hard to get back on track after a few bad days? What is it that keeps anyone from doing what should be done? I have a problem with procrastination, consistency....... and if I don;t "feel like it" I don;t do it. It seems that my emotions at the time always rule. I know what needs to be done. I should be a trooper and just go for it but being in the house kind of makes me go to slow motion. When I eat poorly I take a step further and do not get back on track with the next ...
